Got COPR and landed same day at Qweenston bridge, ON.

Apr 20-AOR/CEC-Inland/CPC-O/LMIA/Score 840
Sept 15-PPR.
Sept 19-PP Submitted.
Sept 30-COPR(I'm from visa exempted country)
Sept 30-Landed.

PM 2 Oclock my lawyer said it's arrived.
I went lawyer's office and had a info session.
Go back home, bundle up kids and 2 hours of driving to border.
Arrived US side and I said 'Admin refusal'.
2 hours of waiting in the CDN passport control.
They asked
1.Have you ever detained/convicted any other country,
2.Have you ever got removal order from CANADA?
3.Do you have more family other than in the app?'
I said and wrote NO, NO, NO and put my initial on COPR.
The officer gave me the 'Welcome to Canada' book, and he said 'Congratulations' with robotic office voice.
Write current address in the COPR for PR Card delivery which might takes 6 weeks, they say.
2 hours of drive back home.
Feels tired but it's great to complete landing.
I appreciate all your sharing and effort to help with each other.

My 2014 CEC app was rejected and it's my 2nd try.
This time I hired a lawyer and it worth every single penny.

Hope you all the best.
Congratulations!

Hi Miketvguy, great news and congrats! Thank you for the info. I am in an almost identical situation to you and with a similar AOR, although still waiting on PPR. My company employed a lawyer to look after my application and I am from a visa exempt country.

I have had very little contact with my lawyer throughout. But basically I provided them with all the information up front, including PP photos and scanned copies. Throughout the process, IRCC have not asked for any updates or further documentation, presumably because of the level of detail and knowledge of my lawyer, in terms of uploading everything correctly.

My question is, when you get PPR, does your lawyer handle the next steps in order to get COPR documentation? Or do these two steps take place together, my lawyer already has PP photos and scan, I wondered whether these would have been uploaded as part of my PR application already. What happened in your case?

Much appreciate your help.

Dear Smoggie.

Soon you will get COPR.
When we got PPR my lawyer asked me to submit passports, copy them and send it with photo and return envelope.
In fact we took this photo in Apr and was less than 6 months so it was still valid.
And I think process at the border with COPR is some sort of first and last process with actual applicant.

Hope you all the best, APR friends.

no way, he should have applied for WP extension or BOWP, then the processing time is called implied status.
He cannot be in implied status just because he applied for PR.
Till the final decision made on your file you can stay in the country.
I am referring to couple actual cases.
#My friend had one year study and he got 1 year post grad work permit.
He had enough points because of double masters and his experience.
He applied for PR and during processing time his WP expired.
Now he is Permanent.
#Another friend came as student and did not want to study, So he got his student permit changed to 2 year WP.
After 20 months he applied for PR in Ontario as an Electrical Technician and got it in 1 year period.
His WP was expired.

Another point is
#Some companies don't allow you to continue the work in that period when your WP is expired.

In my case -I am Licensed Electrician in Canada.
Came as a student and given 1 year post grad WP.
One month prior to expiry date of My Post Grad WP i applied for a bridging WP to to stay on implied status and gave them reason that i have applied for LMIA.
After 102 days i got rejection and the reason they gave me was clearly saying that ONLY IN THE CASE IN WHICH YOU HAVE APPLIED FOR PR YOU CAN GET A BRIDGING WORK PERMIT.
But still i was safe because [when they send you rejection they ask you to restore your status in 90 days after you receive rejection letter or you have to leave the country if you are unable to restore.]i got my LMIA in 90 days period and applied for PR and restored my status.

There are solutions for every condition in Canada but you have to keep patience .
