Hey, I never thought of that, could be very much possible. My uni is in British Columbia. Also i was thinking that ppl with longer courses are delayed. Mine is a 4yr degree.

@ nvidia14- you were gonna visit the CHC on monday right? You went there? What happened?
btw i submitted my visa just one day aftr you.

Nahush I had a talk with the Customer service people they simply told me not to come as the embassy people wont entertain me in any way !!!!!! so I didnt went ??? do you know anyone who went and got positive feedback ??

Yeah, I know allie271 who went there for enquiry but was sent back and told to visit VFS instead. But I do remember reading somewhere in the forums about people who got a positive feedback. I think one of them was Kishore4900.

yes Kishore4900 came from Hyderabad today in the morning and visited New Delhi CHC ... i spoke to him around 2.30 pm today and as per him he had a tuff time explaining the guards his situation and after 20mins of pursuance and little bit of argument , he was finally given the Enquiry form to fill and was asked to wait. He was then called and given just the normal information that files are delayed due to strike etc and his file is also under process and should hear from them or VFS shortly (shortly = 2-3 days , a week or who knows?)

visa depends on many factors kunal and not being an expert I rather not try and preach as I my own visa application is in process.

But your major query is answerable in 1 simple thumb rule of finance which is as follows
Pay entire 1 year fees in full to University/College
$10,000 additional for 1 year living expenses in the form of Education loan or GIC from Scotiabank
And steady income proof for parents/sponsors would be sufficient.

Apply under UNIVERSITY if you are going to one! (you may get visa in 3 days... who knows!)
General and SPP are normally used for college applications

If you have work experience of more than 6 months , then show


but income proof of parents is not mentioned in the spp2013 checklist???

The most annoying thing is that they never give any specific time, instead they say its under processing and use words like shortly and soon ???
Its been around 20 days since you got that e-mail and yet there is no update.

Out of the 13 ppl in our list of delayed by more then two weeks, 2 got replies in 30 days and one got after 38days.

got an email today morning from the embassy , so i am not going to visit CHC New Delhi as i had planned for tomorrow because of the details mentioned in the email. However if no more info is provided or contact is done from their side shortly then i would surely visit after waiting 1 week or so.

I request you to kindly respond to my query about Study permit application submitted 10 Weeks ago.
As my classes are to begin from 26th August 2013, I feel that I am losing precious time and edge over others in pre-booking the best airfare for flights and arranging suitable accommodation.
This delay has almost defeated the whole purpose of me applying for a study permit more than 3 months in advance , many other students from all parts of India have already received their respective visas, most of those applied after me.

Its my humble request to please prioritize my file and provide a decision soon.
