Anyone applied for india entry visa recently ? Need info

Does anyone know what the issue with e-visas for India is? Is this Covid related or a diplomatic issue?

I think that we(former citizens) are not qualified for evisa. Thats why they ask us on getting entry visa or visitor visa.

That's not true. I know many former Indians who used to travel on e-visa and may not have surrendered their passports. Wonder what they are going to do now.

Ok. But I dont see Canada in the list of eligible countries for evisa. Not sure if it was available earlier.
Its possible that like @Invincible84 said, due to diplomatic/reciprocal issue, they might have removed it.

Yes it was for some tit for tat move. evisa are currently suspended by india. hopefully they will start soon one day. Has anyone applied for emergency visa to travel to india? how many days it takes and the procedure please?

Only one week time even for regular application hence if you apply for emergency then you would get it soon for sure.

Same one week for chicago too. My family received the visas in a week. Seems one week for most consulates.

Can anyone help me. The agent at BLS brampton counter says it take 30 to 45 days for Entry/tourist visa.
WE have only 3 weeks left to travel and not sure what tdo . Should we surrender passport and apply for entry visa or tourist visa?

Hello Did you receive your entry visa yet? Did you apply postal or in person? We have applied recently as well and didn’t receive anything yet. The application is with the consulate for 7 working days now. Our travel date is October 14th.
