Hi amiel, cocoagirl is right. Canada is known to support family applications. Even sa FSW, alam ko mas mataas ang points (at least yung old system) pag married with dependents.

Our family's application was received on 16 August (student for me and daughter and open work permit for hubby) - I am hoping for the best, as with everyone here applying.

And congratulations to everyone who got approved. Enjoy Canada! :)
sis, I sent you PM! :)

@ wowry: Hmmm I'm not exactly sure of what to do in your case... All you have to do then is show proof of her financial capability, together with yours. Mas mainam po kung i-explain niyo po sa SOP. Just a suggestion :)

Kasi kung ttranfer niyo po ang Peso to a foreign currency account, I don't think there's any way to avoid the effect of conversion... Di rin ako sure sa bank draft but as far as I know, it's similar to an MC except that it's the bank's funds that will be paid on your behalf; meaning you'll be paying your Middle East account with Peso as well (unless you buy foreign currency, so icoconvert pa rin ang Peso dito), so I think parang ganun rin. Do correct me if I'm wrong, yun lang ang pagkaintindi ko hahaha
7 years na ako dito with a very stable job then ang asawa ko rin kasama ko dito sa middle east 10 years na siya dito at hindi ko siya isasabay sa application ko so i think ok na home tie na yon? buong family ko nasa Pinas din except my sister in law na canadian citizen na kaya sponsor ko din siya kasi sa kanya ako titira. ok lang ba 2 ang sponsor? saka kahit hindi blood related at immediate family? but sa SOP ko kasi after study plano ko umuwi ng Pinas to start a business kaya mas gusto ko sana under my name ang proof of fund ko na nasa Pinas para realistic na may pang business ako hehe problem is hindi naman pala pwede magdeposit sa BPI time deposit ko kahit sino dapat personal appearance daw. so kapag no choice na then idedeclare ko na lang mother in law ko as sponsor anyway plano naman talaga namin magsosyo sa business kung sakali so siguro isama niya sa letter of support niya sakin yon?

Kinopya ko na list mo thank you! :D

No need to mention your sister-in-law kung ang issponsor niya lang po is your lodging. Ang pinaka hinahanap po ng CIC is who will be paying for your expenses. I guess it's okay to declare on the form who will be the person paying for your expenses in majority (the bigger amount) then explaining that you will also have a secondary source of funds. I think okay lang po kahit hindi related, since some people have scholarships paid by institutions and that's fine.

Yes, if ever your mother-in-law will fund your stay, kailangan po i-state up to what extent ka niya issponsor and her capability to do so should be evidenced with supporting bank docs. I still think remitting the money is a viable option if you want strong evidence that you have enough personal funds, downside lang po talaga ang loss in exchange rates.

Either way, as long as you back-up a clear and solid explanation with official documents, I see no problem :D But this is just a suggestion! hehe Praying that your application will work out :D

So I suggest just do what you think is best for you and your family, if sabay na ba ang OWP ng spouse or mauna ka muna. As long as you are able to follow the requirements on the checklist plus provide a very good SOP, then go for it Ü God bless!

@wowry: I agree po with starlettedouze, can't say anything for sure since case to case basis po talaga. What you can do is build a strong case to avoid questionable areas in your application. Review your application on its own; for every approval or rejection, I believe there's a very good reason behind each one. :)

Share ko lang po ito with everyone: http://odb.org/2013/08/21/living-beyond-the-odds/ Don't be discouraged and keep the faith :D With God, we can live beyond the odds ;)

Good luck starlettedouze on the application. Well ang plan na lang namin mag-asawa is to apply our daughter muna para kung palarin is silang mag-ina ang magkasama dun. I'll be staying here in Manila while I process our PR application since I already went through the process of Credentials Assessment and IELTS. Ok lang naman ako to stay here for a while kasi ok naman ang work ko, kaya kong i-support yung study ng wife ko and i'm still paying some investments here. Hirap kasi sa amin na parehas agad sa amin ang walang work so one at a time muna.

Thanks and good luck
