Anyone applied a Student Permit from Philippines?

Meron po bang case na nag start na ang klase pero wala pa din ang visa? Panong gagawin don... Do they need to extend their schedule to the next class opening? Or, dapat kung ano ang in-apply mo sa embassy na class schedule dapt yun din ang papasukan mo?

pls answer...kasi my consultant might file my papers now sa embassy for September 2013 class...prang late na yata ako :-[ :-[ :-[

hi ...nagpamedical xa last May 8,tapos na delayed lang pag submit sa embassy kasi kailangan pa namin yung comprehensive report galing sa nephro nya,may proteinuria kasi hubby ko..May 30 naforward yung medical report nya sa CEM...

Thanks zyzy ako nga pla last june 14 lng ngpamedical... Nga pla, paano nyo nlman na kelangan pa ng reports or other exams? did they called you or emailed you??? what number did you called para malaman na naforward na yung medical result nya sa CEM? Sana wala nmang problems sa mga exam results ko .. Sana smooth flow lang processing ng papers ko.. target ko kasi by second week of august dun na ko para makaadjust ako with everything before school starts.. Hopefully. Nga pla sa Douglas College ako.

Hi guys!! may Travel Madness Expo nga pla sa SMX Convention Center July 12-14 ... may discount ticket ata ung mga agency na andoon.. Attend ako tingin tingin at canvass lang ng ticket prices baka meron murang ticket pa Vancouver.. try nyo rin 50 pesos lang ata entrance fee

hi guys! just an update, my brother received his visa today, medyo natagalan kasi almost a month bago naforward ng St. Luke's yun medical nya although wala naman problem sa medical exam nya. ;D

Hi faithmd! ask ko lang paano nyo nlaman n naforward n yung medical exam nya ??? did you called CEM or st Lukes ? anu pala ung number nila???

hi...sinabi ni hubby mismo doon sa doctor ng nationwide na may proteinuria xa,and my gamot syang iniinom for maintenance...kaya sumulat yung doctor ng nationwide sa doc ng hubby ko for his prognosis and biopsy result nya..buti na lang pumasa pa rin sa awa ng Diyos...

ay gnun pala agad agad din nya nlaman... sa nationawide pla kayo ngmedical exam. ako nga pla s st lukes . thanks sa info . sana wala ng additional exams skin sbi ksi kontakin daw ako within 3 weeks pag may additional exams... happy for you and your hubby na may visa n cya.. this coming fall din ba start ng classes nya???

Sana umabot pa ko sa fall term.

Hi! Had my medical last June 19th. More than two weeks na din. Sa University of Alberta sana ako for September 2013 intake, ikaw? My friend had her medical exam there din but for Australia naman. Sabi niya I can call the hospital daw for follow up - been calling there for a week, laging busy ang mga lines nila. Kinakabahan na ko.

opo pwede po. pwede nyu po sila tawagan or email. tignan nyu nlang po sa website nila ung email add,. ako po nag email lang sakanila at nag reply namn sila agad.. basta ilagay nyu lang po ung info nyu such as name, uci, file number..

dito napo ako ngeon sa canada.. pwede ba ko makap[ag work nyan ngeon summer? sep pa nmn pasok ko.. student visa holder po ako.. thanks

Thanks for the info. I'll do that in a bit. Congrats din sa Visa mo Di ako sure sa work eh. Ang alam ko you need to apply for OCWP. Check mo na lang conditions. Sang school ka sa Alberta?

@Ultrawax: Legally speaking, you cannot work. You can only apply for the OCWP 6 months after the start of your classes. But of course, you can do a little "rackets" here and there".

Hi Guys,

I am also a prospective student of SIAST (actually on process pa din yung M. in Economics ko sa University of Ottawa) at nakuha ko na yung LOA ko for 2 years (1 year is good for business certificate and 1 year for Diploma in Business Management). Kung papalrin ako sa UOttawa, gusto ko talaga kunin eh master para hindi mahirapan sa visa processing at yung mismong makapag master ka sa canada eh malaking achievement yun for me, kaya hinihintay ko pa yung UOttawa na sa November pa magbibigay yung decision for summer intake.

As such, i-hohold ko muna ang SIAST. I am planning to defer it and take the 2014 Fall Session. Pwede kayang gawin yun? This is for my Plan B. SIAST at UOttawa lang kasi inaplayan ko.

Also, kung papipiliin kayo, mas mainam ba ang college (SIAST) or Master (UOttawa) na parehas merong Co-op? Alin mas maganda in terms of career prospect sa Canada, immigration etc...?

@k0811 These are just personal opinions. I might be wrong... If I were you, I'll wait for the Masters Degree. Although, you are not guaranteed yet of an LOA from UOttawa, better invest on a masters than certificate or diploma courses. Besides, you already knew what you want. Why settle for less.

About deferring, please make sure this is allowed by the school. It might be a one time offer only that you have to re-apply for admission once you deferred on your original LOA. You will also have a big chance for a visa if you are joining reputable universities like UOttawa.

Co-op programs on business courses are rare. Usually, it's the engineering programs that have co-op. On future career, business graduates end up in the very competitive workpool. You'll have a good future if you're profile is very impressive. Plus factors are employment experiences...
