I have to agree with khoykhoy regarding the SOP / explanation letter / study plan haha I think it really helps if you provide one that's backed up with your documents. In a nutshell, a good study plan should...
  • Be straightforward and concise (VO's have hundreds of applications to screen! Make it convenient for them)
  • Answer how is your course in Canada connected to your background and future plans
  • Answer what are your ties to the Philippines that will ensure your return after studying

And all together, your application package ideally should include...
  • Proof that you have immediate family staying in your home country
  • Proof that you are financially stable and are going to Canada to PRIMARILY study
  • Proof that you have valuable assets in your home country (property, businesses, etc.)
  • Proof that you have a job waiting for you when you come back
  • Proof that you are studying in-line with your future goals/career
Yes I sstrongly agree I also used this checklist as a guide. My husband drafted my sop.

Thanks @frustrated,
We will be staying in vancouver/victoria area

SUPER AGREE! I am honestly not putting all my hopes in my application, but God is so good because 4 days ago I received a job offer with very good salary package, so if my application will not push thru, I will most definitely pursue it. God is good all the time.
That's impressive! Truly, God is good ALL THE TIME! Like what khoykhoy said, "If one door closes, another one will open." Everything falls in God's perfect timing and according to His plans :)

Hi @ Yourname

Sorry for the late reply. Internet is a bit crazy these days

I submitted a bank certificate both here in Philippines and in Canada. All under my name. I was in Canada early this year so I opened up a savings account with RBC.
Only bank cert? No statements?

They did and they do. McGill does not impose the "completion of a bachelor's plus master's" admission requirement for students from Philippines applying to their masters program. I graduated with a degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering. It's a five year-degree sa Pinas (except probably in Mapua).

Got a refusal letter for not having sufficient funds to maintain myself during my proposed period of study. I was a bit hesitant to include the affidavit of support from my grandmother in Alberta last time eh pero I won't lose hope. I'll re-apply again this October for winter intake.

I want to Study In Canada

I am 43 years of age. I have done B.A in 1993 and 3 years Software Diploma in 1997 From Aptech. Now I am an Entrepreneur since then. I want to do MBA or any Trade Course from Canada. Can I do that many colleges have written me to fill their online application and pay the fees they will be sending me Letter of Acceptance to me. Moreover I am also asking a Letter of Appreciation for myself from their side as I am a visiting entrepreneur to their college and it will support my claim for studies.
I am not filling visa for my family. Do I deserve good chances for getting study Visa to Canada Please tell. I am having 56% overall in 3 yrs diploma course from aptech.

Regards

Hi dhanjalbunty, I am not familiar with education in India, hence I don't think I can give my opinion about your case. My only advise is that do your research on where you want to study in Canada. If you wish to pursue a career there, better to enrol in a school with a good reputation. Don't be too trusting towards agents who approach you to enrol in the school they are endorsing.
