Anybody attended a 4-hour special oath ceremony??

I receive the oath invitation today. It will be a 4-hour ceremony including 1 hour roundtable discussion.
So the event will be registration -roundtable discussions - ceremony - reception.
It is required to confirm the attendance by calling xxxxxxx by July xx.
So I wonder if anybody attended this kind of special ceremony before, is the roundtable discussions mandatory? Can I skip it?
