Hi Guys,

It looks like the settlement funds have changed on CIC website on 12th January 2016. Requesting new OINP applicants to refer to this new information when entering/showing proof of funds.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/funds.asp

PS: I have signed the application on 9th Jan 2016, couriered the application package on 11th Jan 2016 and application package was delivered on 13th Jan 2016. In settlement funds I have entered as CAD 14,853 but my account balance in savings is more than CAD 20,000 (2 family members including me). Hope this will not be a problem.

Regards,
Masood Ahmed
Not at all... Relax!

Does OINP send back the application package after you withdraw the application?

Hi,

I am going to apply for OINP under human capital stream. To show proof of funds I have 3 options as per application guide which are as below

Bank account in Canada :
If you have a personal bank account in Canada, provide copies of bank statements for the six months prior to the submission of the application to OINP.

Bank account outside of Canada :
If you do not have a personal bank account in Canada, you must provide six months of original up-to-date bank statements from a recognized financial institution.

Income in Ontario :
If you demonstrate ongoing employment income to satisfy the settlement funds requirement, submit supporting documents as evidence of ongoing employment in Ontario or a valid job offer in Ontario (note that you must be able to legally work in Ontario). See Section 3.1 for required documents.

Since I don't have enough money in my bank account so I m going to prove settlement funds through my income in Ontario. But in the document checklist in the application there are only following options to tick
1> Current bank certification letter; or
2> Evidence of savings balance; or
3> Fixed or time deposit statements.

So which option should I choose?

Experts please advise.
1.

Bachelors in Commerce
Masters Business Administration
Employed as Software Engineer in MNC in India for more than five years
Applicable / Selected NOC 2173

WES ECA done for both Bachelors Masters, employment letter, referral letters with Software Engineer designation available

Got OPNP PT

Will apply very soon.

Do you forsee any issues, I may face

2. For my spouse I got IELTS WES ECA points
The application form requires only IELTS score, No WES ECA reference?

It's interesting you say this because to claim points for any foreign education you need a WES reference number. You also need to input English and/or French language credentials. Are you sure you have elected to file a Joint application with you as Primary applicant and your spouse as secondary applicant?

I am the principle applicant, IELTS, WES ECA done My Points 388

My husband also has IELTS, WES ECA done Points 24 Total 412 Points

Make you husband the PA as he has higher score of 412, but ensure you both have valid ECA and IELTS. Hopefully you'll score 67/100 (min criterion) on the Economic Immigrant evaluation scale.

You'll also need PoF for 2 people(assuming no children)

Good-luck for OINP.

Thanks

For your info

I am PA having 388 points
Spouse 24 points
412 total points

Both have IELTS /WES ECA

I have submitted an EE profile with 427 points but as yet no PT from Ontario? It's only been a week or so. Is it worthwhile
resubmitting the EE profile or wait a month in case it's a technical hitch?

Thanks for any advice,

LoopyL

Is it possible they choose on the basis of NOC codes rather than CRS points?

Suggest wait for some more time, as it's only been a week. If you don't get in a fortnight or 20 odd days , you can try resubmitting.

The forum knowledge says for OINP it's on CRS>=400 irrespective of the NOC.

Hi all,
I'm Nigerian currently in Scotland rounding up my Masters programme.I'm about to create my Express Entry profile and hope to receive a PT notification of Interest from Ontario. From the points calculator i have 409 points-meaning i'm eligible for the OOPNP.My NOC is 4162 and i have about 3 years work experience in economic analysis.I've obtained my IELTS(CLB 8) and a WES ECA for my undergraduate degree, however i'm still awaiting my Msc result which should be out before the end of this month. Is it too early to create my Express Entry profile or should i wait till i get my MSc result, immediately obtain a WES ECA for it and then create my profile in expectation of a PT?

Have you factored what your score will be like when you get your Masters ECA done? If it goes above 450, then its highly likely that you will receive direct ITA, otherwise you can go ahead and proceed in creating your EE profile and anticipate PT from OINP.
