Hi

I have 1 year 5 months of Canadian job experience(working in Quebec since I got PGWP) and a masters degree from Quebec but no LMIA. I will be applying under CEC.

I got 370 points when I calcualated points. Will I get the additional 600 points for arranged employment?

Note: offer letter + 1 year 5 months of Canadian experience, no LMIA.

Hi my EE application open 14 Jan 16, score 418, I selected all provinces. Just wonder if Ontario will give PT very soon. Is there some certainty for 400 points above as they mentioned? How soon can I receive it? I guess I just need to wait now and do nothing? many thanks!
If you have 400 + CRS, you will receive PT from Ontario. If you don't receive it by this Friday, you might want to consider re-creating your profile.

600 points for "arranged employment" are awarded only for people with a job offer that is backed by a positive LMIA. If you do NOT have a LMIA backed job, you cannot claim those 600 points.

This post, I believe would clear some confusion about 2 or more degrees.

Hi,

My ECA reads somewhat like this

Canadian Equivalency Summary - Bachelor's Degree (4years)

Credential Analysis 1 - Bachelor's degree (4 years)
Credential Analysis 2 - Bachelor's degree (3 years)

What should I choose while submitting Education Section? "Two or more degrees" or "Bachelor's degree"

What is the relevance of Summary section in ECA report?
Yes, you CAN choose 2 or more degrees. I'd like to explain this a bit because there is a LOT of confusion surrounding this.

This is what is mentioned on the CIC site -
Two or more certificates, diplomas, or degrees

Important notice: One must be for a program of three or more years.

ECA assessment results:

>>A three-year or more certificate, diploma, or degree

PLUS any of the results in the sections below (not including secondary/high school), OR:

Post-Bachelor's Certificate
Post-undergraduate certificate
Post-Bachelor's Diploma
Post-undergraduate diploma
Graduate Certificate
Graduate Certificate with a focus in [area of concentration]
Postgraduate certificate
Postgraduate Diploma
Graduate Diploma with a focus in [area of concentration]
Graduate diploma
two-year Postgraduate Diploma, specializing in [name of discipline]
two-year Bachelor’s after degree with a focus in [area of concentration]
one-year Postgraduate Certificate in [name of discipline]
one-year of graduate study with a focus in [area of concentration]
Study Toward a Master's Degree

>> Bachelor’s degree or other programs (three or more years) at a university, college, trade or technical school, or other institute
>> Two-year degree, diploma or certificate from a program at a university, college, trade or technical school, or other institute
>> One-year degree, diploma or certificate from a program at a university, college, trade or technical school, or other institute
>> Secondary school (high school diploma)
here's the link - http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/eca-conversion.asp

People have completely missed to notice the "PLUS any of the results in the sections below (not including secondary/high school)" clause. See, what that sentence means is - If you have 2 credentials AND one of them is at least 3 years long, then you could choose 2 or more degrees if the second credential is ANYTHING THAT IS AVAILABLE BELOW THIS SECTION (which includes all the below -

OR

The any one from the list that is provided under the "2 or more degrees section" -

Post-Bachelor's Certificate
Post-undergraduate certificate
Post-Bachelor's Diploma
Post-undergraduate diploma
Graduate Certificate
Graduate Certificate with a focus in [area of concentration]
Postgraduate certificate
Postgraduate Diploma
Graduate Diploma with a focus in [area of concentration]
Graduate diploma
two-year Postgraduate Diploma, specializing in [name of discipline]
two-year Bachelor’s after degree with a focus in [area of concentration]
one-year Postgraduate Certificate in [name of discipline]
one-year of graduate study with a focus in [area of concentration]
Study Toward a Master's Degree

In conclusion, as long as you have a 3 year degree AND your second degree/diploma has been evaluated to any of the following, you CAN choose 2 or more degrees.

College Diploma (three years)
Diploma (three years)
Three-year diploma in [name of discipline]
Three-year advanced diploma
Bachelor's Degree
Applied Bachelor's Degree
Bachelor's degree (three years)
Three-year Bachelor's degree, specializing in [name of discipline]
Three-year Bachelor degree
Bachelor's degree (four years)
Four-year Bachelor's degree, specializing in [name of discipline]
Four-year Bachelor degree
Three-year post-secondary Diploma with a focus in [area of concentration]
Bachelor’s degree with a focus in [area of concentration]
Applied Bachelor’s degree with a focus in [area of concentration]
Bachelor of Technology degree with a focus in [area of concentration]
Three-year Bachelor’s degree with a focus in [area of concentration]
Four-year Bachelor’s degree with a focus in [area of concentration]
College Diploma
College Diploma (two years)
Diploma (two years)
Two-year diploma
Two-year diploma in [name of discipline]
Secondary school diploma and diploma (two years)
Associate Degree
Associate of [Arts/Science] degree
Post-secondary Diploma with a focus in [area of concentration]
Two-year post-secondary Diploma with a focus in [area of concentration]
Two-year associate degree
College Certificate
Completion of College-level certificate
University Certificate
University Diploma
One-year certificate in [name of discipline]
Post-secondary certificate with a focus in [area of concentration]
One-year Post-secondary certificate with a focus in [area of concentration]
One-year certificate
Post-Bachelor's Certificate
Post-undergraduate certificate
Post-Bachelor's Diploma
Post-undergraduate diploma
Graduate Certificate
Graduate Certificate with a focus in [area of concentration]
Postgraduate certificate
Postgraduate Diploma
Graduate Diploma with a focus in [area of concentration]
Graduate diploma
two-year Postgraduate Diploma, specializing in [name of discipline]
two-year Bachelor’s after degree with a focus in [area of concentration]
one-year Postgraduate Certificate in [name of discipline]
one-year of graduate study with a focus in [area of concentration]
Study Toward a Master's Degree

I was scrutinizing this a few minutes back and that PLUS any of the results in the sections below (not including secondary/high school) caught my attention and it made all the difference.

Please share this post to people who have doubts about choosing 2 or more degrees when they have 2 credentials that has both been evaluated to Bachelor's degree.

Job Offer........

Now that I read all the PCC information in this forum I realize that there is no way in hell I am going to get my FBI PCC before 13th March which is the deadline for 13th Jan ITA holders.

My file was received at FBI on 17th of Dec but still no money were taken out of my credit card.

Question is:
I have been to US for this period:
15.05.2007 - 21.08.2007 - 3 months and 6 days
15.05.2008 - 30.09.2008 - 4 months and a half

There is 8 and a half month break between both stays. According to the rules I shoudn;t be needing a FBI PCC because I have not stayed 6 consequent months there. I applied just in case and now I am not sure what to do.
Should I upload the shipment docs that show that I have sent the file to FBI?
Or should I not do anything in this case?

After ITA, after the personalized checklist, were you asked for FBI PCC in the list of documents to be uploaded? If this is the case, you should. If not, no.

As per the rules, you should not need FBI PCC but it depends on what the personalized checklists has for you (I assume the checklist will not have a requirement for FBI PCC). If there is a requirement (upload the shipment docs sent).

Ok,

I just checked this.

So it doesn't ask for FBI PCC but in the section Police Certificate there is the world (Multiple) added in brackets..
What should this be then?

Second question appeared though:

I have a place to add my marriage certificate - it says Marriage License/Certificate (required) which I will add.

Right below it there is this:

Document: Proof of Relationship

You must provide proof of your relationship with your host or family member. This can include:

a marriage certificate
Statutory Declaration of Common-Law Union (IMM5409)
a birth certificate
an official document naming you as a parent
a copy of the inside back cover of the inviter’s passport showing the inviter’s parents, if applicable
I have an uncle who lives in Toronto and I answered yes to the question if I have relatives there.
Is this refering to my uncle or to my husband?
And I only added my uncle. But my aunt and cousins also live there. Should I have added them as well? This is going to be really hard to prove mu cousins relationship.

At the bottom there is a requirement for proof of citizenship of my family member in Canada.

I assume this should be related to my husband as I also have to prove he is a canadian citizen AND my uncle but please let me know ... this got me a little worried cause I don't think married people are asked to prove relationship on such an early stage. Only if something looks suspicious.

is there any document needed called Ontario settlement plan ?
You can call it that or you can call it an "Intent to reside in Ontario" letter. In this, you will outline as to why you want to settle down in Ontario. You can mention about your employment opportunities, your kid's education, your higher education plans (if any) and stuff like that. Do some research about the province - The content is supposed to convince the officer that you will reside in Ontario and make it your new and permanent home.

Hi all, quick question. Do documents to be submitted, be they employment reference letters, signed letter from Bank Managers, educational credentials need to be color scanned? My local library only has a black and white scanner. If it does I will have to travel to my local Staples for color scanning. Does it make a difference? Appreciate if you can let me know.

Thanks in advance.
