Any one applied for study visa in UAE through vfs global?

Hi guys,
I applied for study visa May 7,2015 for fall admission but no update and no passport request from VAC Abu Dhabi yet. More so, I would like to know how long does passport stay with CIC after submission?

U applied in Dubai or Abu Dhabi?

Timeline is 8 weeks as per their website, I got my passport request after 9 weeks

They wont keep the passport for long, its returned back within 3 days

I reside in Kuwait actually and I sent my passport along with my application . it was a paper based application and it has been now like two months next week will be counted as my 9th week , hopefully will wait . Did you apply also thro VFS? how did you got the approval ? by email ?

I applied through vfs dubai, but all UAE applications are processed in Abu Dhabi visa office.
