I have been working with a Canadian company since last 3 years as a freelance web developer/programmer. My CRS score is quite low, around 360. So, I want to move to Canada on a work permit. The company I work for has shown some basic level of interest, but I have been reading about LMIA and see that its close to impossible to get and that most employers do not want to get it because its a lot of work. Please advise on what are my chances. Is there any exemption of LMIA for IT based jobs?

The only one I can think of that would apply to your situation is the international mobility program if French happens to be your first / primary language.

You would need to have plans to work outside of the province of Quebec, have a skilled job offer, and also be fluent in French.

Thank you for response. French is not my first language, so this will not be suitable for me. What if i learn French and achieve basic proficiency in it? Will this help?

No - this definitely won't work. If you read through the details you'll see that French needs to be your primary language to qualify under this exemption. French would need to be your "habitual language of daily use" and you would need to be fully fluent.

This is the full list of LMIA exemptions. You can use this page to research if any of these might apply to you.
