We started processing (husbands name) application on September 5, 2011.

I thought this was such good news to see the new change on the ECAS website today for us. It says it started processing his app on September 5th. I think it's gonna be soon. And maybe I'm being silly for posting every little change, but my husband and I have waited for almost 2 years to see him become a
permanent resident. I went to Turkey to live there before my appeal hearing in Vancouver and since then we've been apart for another 7 months. It's been the hardest time in our lives. But very soon I know he will be coming

days! I'm going crazy, a little bit. On a happier note,I finally moved out of my brothers house
and am in my own place again. I love my new place. I've been working for about 6 months again,
since I came back to Canada. Now I just feel ready to have my husband come here and live. Any
time soon or now would be awesome

Hi mimina!
Every day, these days are just draggggggging along. I feel as if i have no right to complain. So many people have waited far longer than me. But I am! This is taking way too long.
I want to have a baby, I want my husband to learn English, at the classes that I set up for him.
I want us to live alone, because when I lived in Turkey I lived with my husbands' whole family (God bless them all for welcoming me into their home!) and I want us to experience a real intimacy together alone.
I want to shop together for food, and cook Turkish meals together, sometimes. I know he wants me to do the majority of the cooking. But who cares, after all this, it'll be my pleasure.
Buy a house together. OOOOOOOOOOOOOOO this is just awful that we have to wait so long. :'(

I'll try to be grateful. Really I will! Just give me some good news. I'm praying every day for that one important
piece of good news.

Mrs Turan... I got choked up reading your post...those are all the things I want to do with my husband soon!!! I will pray for your reunification to be soon so that all your plans can come true very soon. You have been waiting long..you deserve it!! Let us know when you receive the good news so we can all be happy for you! 8)

Prayers for you and your husband too mimina, that you have a speedy reunification. I don't know why I feel I need so much sympathy, but it really does mean so much. Big hugs to you

Wow, I hope they send you some good news soon, I can't imagine if the process took almost 2 years to complete. I feel very fortunate to be living together with my husband while we wait. In our situation we have to live in a third country (China) under a teaching visa in order to have residency and be able to make the application.

Well che.the.spy, it should not have taken so long, but they did not believe we had a genuine
marriage because my husband had a really hard time with the interview. He blanked out and forgot a lot of important facts because he was nervous. We didn't know it was gonna be so important. We took way too much for granted that the whole process of my husband getting his Visa and coming to Canada, was in the bag. Well I think I did anyway. My husband was a nervous wreck, and I think still minorly traumatized by
his interview at the Ankara Canadian Embassy. He tells me he never felt so stupid in his life, and when he
refers to the interview he still calls himself stupid. It bothers me. I think it affected his self esteem. He was raised to feel proud of himself and confident, and the woman who interviewed him made some mean insinuations about him. I cannot even imagine how devastated he was when he walked out of her office. It
still chokes me up to think about it.
Anyways...because of the lousy interview, I had to appeal and prove that we had a genuine marriage under the Family Class PR, and I did win my appeal hearing. Before that I did move there to Turkey, so we haven't been apart for 2 years, it has been 7 months now though
