Did you pay RFPR? And did they take your passport photos at the end of the interview?
Ankara is not too slow comparing to some other visa offices. I think it's because of the holidays and of course depends who's working on your file, be patient, I'm sure we will all get DM very soon

I paid everything in advance and photos were taken after interview...What's taking too long with background check I don't get it...I have been only in the states and Mexico for 19 days vacation. Sent the police certificate from Turkey with the application..Still waiting. My work permit expires in February that's the scary part.

And when they took your photos, did they tell you to wait for the passport request?
Unfortunately, no one knows how long a background check might take We are in the same boat, my husband's interview was successful and we are waiting for the passport request now. Based on his interview we know for sure that if they doubt you even for a bit they will stretch the time to make sure they have everything on you. It's already been 2 months for you so for sure it's coming to an end! It's a new year and they have to start issuing visas to a lot of people now, this makes me feel better!

I am new to this forum. I am a June applicant (2nd). My wife was asked for an interview held on November 17. We are still waiting for passport request since then. I have a question. Since we have a lawyer, he has been receiving all the correspondence. Thus, we do not have any MyCiC account to follow up the status. I can only login through cic.gc.ca to check the status. It has not been updated since a few month ago. Should I ask my lawyer to create a MyCiC account because he is our representative or I can link our application to MyCiC by myself?

It seems like Ankara didn't issue visas in the end of November and December, they probably have a yearly quota.
We have a lawyer too and that's why I couldn't create a MyCiC account I don't think you or your lawyer can create it because if he creates it then all the emails from the visa office will go to his MyCiC account and not to his e-mail.

I have a feeling that we will hear good new from Ankara soon

I don't have a lawyer and I have my account..but emails don't go to "my account" at all. Emails are sent directly to the lawyers email address or applicant's and sponsors email addresses. So I think you can link your application to your "my account" regardless.

I know we have to be patient, but sometimes it's impossible. Ankara office did not try at all to bring good news to people before holidays. All this time it's just very tense. Soon it will be 1 month for us since the interview, and no words from them. May be they do have quota for the year, who knows. But good communication with applicants would be considerate from the Government. How long does it takes for security and clearance checks? I am just wandering why police record check it's not enough?

I don't want to risk it because it might mess up the e-mails we receive from visa office, my lawyer sends me everything right away and I know that my husband's background check is in process

Of course sometimes it's impossible, I haven't seen my husband since April and I went through a depression and I still have sad moments but patience is gold and we will eventually get it InshaAllah. I'm looking at other people cases and it's crazy how people wait for 1-2 years, my cousin had to wait 2 years until she got her visa. We are lucky that it's not taking that long for us. I will repeat it again, it's a new year and visa office starts from scratch which means they have to issue MANY visas...so we just have to wait a little bit more) We've been through interviews which is a crucial part of the entire process, I'm sure we will hear good news soon
As for the police certificate, I'm pretty sure it's enough, they are just taking their time

Did you get your passport request in the mail, email or on cic? What the process after background check ?
And when can you work legally ..do you need your PR CARd on hand or cic gives something temporary. I need to know becouse my work permit is up at the end of February.

We got the passport request in the email. Ours was very quick. His background check went into progress and a few hours later, my husband got a passport request. He sent the documents they asked and a week later he had the passport with a visa. He landed four weeks later.
You don't need a PR card to work. Once you become a PR, you only need to have a social insurance number (SIN) to work. My husband got his at the airport. You can also get it any service Canada center. You have to take your PR documents and they will give it to you. Don't stress about that one, it's very straightforward good luck.
