Hey everyone!

I received this e-mail from the Canadian embassy in Amman.

This is CRAZY! The passport is not even 2 years old and its only got a VERY tiny "scratch", you can barely call it a scratch!!!

Anyways, my wife left Syria a long time ago because her home was destroyed in Homs. Does anyone know how she can renew her passport? She's curently in Libya.

Thank you.

salam Yahya, why your wife do not go to syria embassy in Tripoly. and if it was closed send them emil telling them your setuation.

my friend went to syria "7amah" before a month to renew the passports for her children we all were very worried about her but el7amdollah she came back with the new passports.

Merry Christmas everybody

Hello everyone, I havent posted in awhile. congrats to those who finally recieved exciting news from the VO!!
I have a question and hopefully one of you knows the answer. Ive been in Iraq visiting my husband since sept 20. Im supposed to be back on the 12th of January. Im planning on staying till mid march. do any of you know if this will effect our sponsorship in any way? is there a time limit? if so, how long?

From what I understand .. you have to prove to the CiC that you live and work in Canada, since you are sponsoring from from inside Canada ( yourself). To my understanding 6 months trips are ok .. but anything longer may hurt you. If you can I would come back for 3-4 months .. then leave again, for more frequent the visits the more genuine the marriage looks to the CiC.

thank you for your reply CKnD, but i notice that you started your application in april, is there a way to track and see the progress on the file while waiting? or we just have to wait and see?

Usually Tracking your file is possible, all depending on your Visa Office. Some Visa Offices update progress on files with great detail. Unfortunately the Amman Visa Office is not one of those. I think due to the large amount of files they have.

Also due to the long wait times, there isnt much to update till they begin processing your files.

If you have your UCI # (XXXXXXXX) and/or a Application number F000XXXXXX or B000XXXXXX), u can check your progress on the CiC website http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/index-can.asp ... On the left hand side click on "Check Application Status"

You recieve this number when you get your approval from stage 1 ( Approved to be a sponsor ), at this point your file is sent to your Visa Office. At this stage when you check your status, it should say "Application Received" and will remain this way till they begin working on your file
