Amendment of landing record

When I received my CPR, I noticed that the original date of entry and last
date of entry are both shown incorrectly. Instead of 2007, 2012 was shown.
I called in the call centre and have been advised that I should be able to
correct this at the point of entry. During landing, I asked the officer
to correct the dates and shown stamps on my passport as proof. he officer
refused to make any corrections, saying that they will not have an effect on
anything and I landed using the document with incorrect dates.
However, I just found that the entry date is pretty important as it will
have an effect on my pension plan later and on a number of other things.
I have been advised to submit an application to amend my record of
landing. Has anyone gone through the same process? After receiving the amended
COPR, will I have to land all over again?

One thing for sure you will not have to 'land' again. You are a PR now.

Are you guys going to apply for a correction on your coPR after you landed?
I intend to send the application probably in the next couple weeks.

In my case only a copy of the CPR was required.

For the CPR it says:

5. Immigration document to be amended:

Any amendments to the name, date of birth, expiry date, or any other information on the document including:.

-Your original valid Work Permit, Study Permit, Visitor Record, or Permit to Enter and Remain in Canada (IMM 1442 or IMM 1263) if you are applying for an amendment to these documents.

-A photocopy of your Record of Landing (IMM 1000), Confirmation of Permanent Residence (IMM 5292 or IMM 5688) if you are applying for an amendment to one of these documents.
Hope this helps.

No, you are already a PR.
What happens to your copy of CPR that has an error/s? Do they send you a new one?

Hi Seniors,
I received COPR today.
Mine and my kid's first entry and PR on dates are blank and my wife's is printed with the last year which is not the original date of entry.
I need to correct it in Port of Entry or have to send my COPR back.
Pls advise.

The offcier at the border can't correct the mistakes. Complete the landing and point it out to the officer during the landing.
And when you're done you can have the information corrected.

Hi Toby,

I have the same mistake regarding my original date of entry during my landing on Saturday. I was looking at the guide to amend this information. And I notice that they request following info on the document checklist.

" 3. Photocopy of one (1) piece of government issued or internationally recognized identification from outside Canada before your entry to Canada indicating that an error was made in recording your information. This could include:

your marriage certificate, if applicable,
your school records, identity cards, or other government-issued documents from outside Canada prior to your entry to Canada,
your birth certificate."

Do you know if it is mandatory to submit this if I just want to change the original date of entry? And do I need to provide any documents to support the correct date? In addition, when filling out the form, under 'Part B - Information to be amended', do I need to fill out every single information (eg. name, birth date, etc.)? Or just the original date of entry box is fine?

Thank you very much for your help!
