Subject pretty much says it all, i was reading the checklist, and it said must complete 3 copies. why is this?

Applicants from most countries don't require this. Maybe the US gov't wants copies: one to the FBI, one to the CIA.

I read a post where a lot of people made this mistake, but i caught it in time and am making 2 more copies. better to be safe than sorry, and have them think I was lazy or didn't follow directions and decide to be lazy themselves or put my application off til another day because I didn't follow directions. lol

We only caught that just before sending it in. And I mean JUST before. We made 3 copies.

OMG the same thing happened to us - it was only looking at the check list for the umpteenth time JUST before sending it that I was like... wait a second... It was mentioned NO WHERE else. Just the check list, so I had a bit of panic after that, and went even more neurotic about the paperwork. Seriously - like, Paper Nazi with it.

I'm glad I caught it, and I hope that anyone that didn't isn't effected in a negative way.

This is just for Buffalo right?

I am about to send off to Mississauga my app for Rabat...I only need 1 right ...LOL

I am so paranoid right now to make sure everything is right. :o

Yep, only one copy needed for Caribbean applicants EXCEPT those from Cuba.

US requires 3 copies. Interesting.

Yes, the checklist for US applicants specifically tells you to send in three copies; the checklist for Rabat just says one.

I JUST discovered this last night! So glad I caught it.

Hi everyone,
My husband and I just read this and are a little concerned. We did not send in 3 copies of the schedule 1 background check because we thought it only required 1 copy. My husband was approved as a sponsor in April and our application has been sitting in Buffalo since the beginning of April. We are wondering if there is anyone out there who only sent 1 copy and if it affected thier process at all. We are thankful that our application didn't get sent back because of this.
Please let us know if thi has happened to anyone and if it effected the process and if there and anything we can do.
Thank you!

I would think, if you sent it off and they accepted it, that it should be fine if you just make 2 more copies of the form and send them to your processing office in Buffalo. Explain that you realize that you were supposed to send 3 coppies and didn't, so here are the remaining copies. If they didn't send the file back to you it's probably either not that important for the intial stage of the process or they haven't realized it yet, so send them 2 more copies of them asap.

Thank you tink23! I think we will go ahead and make those copies and send them off to Buffalo. I sent off for another background check a month ago and thought I would send an updated one off with our copies as well...it doesn't hurt to be proactive!
