Dear friends, need you help.

I just received my immigration visa and plan to land in Canada soon.

I want to get married soon. When can I sponsor my spouse? If I just landed and not employed yet can I apply to be a sponsor?

I checked the documents checklist http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5491E.pdf and do not know what to answer to questions 17-19 about income and employment.

Please clarify this issue

Sponsorship eligibility

In order to sponsor, you must…

be 18 years of age or older,
be a Canadian citizen, Registered Indian or permanent resident,
be sponsoring a member of the family Class,
live in Canada or provide evidence, if you are a Canadian citizen living outside of Canada, that you will live in Canada once the person you are sponsoring becomes a permanent resident.
sign an agreement with your spouse or common-law partner confirming that each of you understands your obligations and responsibilities,
sign an undertaking promising to provide for your spouse or common-law partner’s basic requirements and, if applicable, those of his or her dependent children,
prove that you have sufficient income to provide basic requirements for your spouse or common-law partner’s dependent children. To do this, you must provide documents showing your financial resources for the past 12 months. This requirement applies only when dependent children who have dependent children of their own are included on the application.

Thank you for your reply. I read this guide. But still it is not clear to me what documents should I attach under points #18,19. Or should I leave them blank?

for those, is a lot of evidence that you can support your spouse during the undertaking, and proff from your job, like showin in papers how
much you make every months, and how much you have earned durin the last three months, i could be wrong but i think before you are able
to sponsor your spouse you should setle in canada first so you can meet the requierments,

Yes, it can. As long as you have enough money saved up to support you and your spouse it should be fine. It's not a guarantee though. There's always the chance the specific officer could view it as not enough, but I don't think that's likely. Just write a little along with bank statements saying that you will use savings to support both of you. If you have plans for a future job, you could always describe those plans too.

Make sure you don't get married until after you have come to Canada and "landed" to become a permanent resident.

If I get married before landing I will inform CIC about changes in my circumstances. But then we'll have to wait together for another several months until spouse is included in application.

Yes, that is also an option. Just don't get married, land, and then try to sponsor your spouse, because that will not work.

If you opt to get married first, you'll have to wait. On the brightside, you'll get your PRs at the same time.
If you opt to land first, then get married, you'll have to be apart (unless your spouse can get a TRV), since PRs must be in Canada to sponsor their spouses.

I know a guy who declared change in circumstances after getting married. It happened in June and they are still waiting for decision. I think it's not a good option.

I would prefer sponsorship.

Yes - you can sponsor without employment. However keep in mind that as a PR, you must be living in Canada in order to sponsor. This means you will first have to come to Canada and land, then return to your home country to get married, and then return back to Canada to submit the application to sponsor your wife.
