i got passport request on feb 19, 2016. i want to ask that my daughter was born in paskistan and she got canadian passport. do i need to submit her canadian passport copy alongwith her photos with my passport as she will be accompanying me. Please note that she was not included in application. she was a canadian national by birth as my husband is a naturalized canadian citizen.kindly repsond as i need to submit passport asap.

I was prepared to reply vehemently to your post .... "So overall the percentage rate of refusal is very very low". Making one person wait for years to be re-united with his or her family is already an injustice. Never mind 4,500!!!

But I am glad to see that as you think it through you recognize the system is very flawed. Innocent people like us are truly victims of a system that is incapable of identifying fraudulent activity ... at least at the embassy level. It is the fraudulent who know how to navigate the system. I never suspected my government would arrive at such a ridiculous decision ... my relationship is not genuine! How would they know?

I believe that in the end, the IRB gives us justice. But we shouldn't have to wait for years to have them affirm what we already know to be true.

This is why I encourage our members to complain and unite to effect change. I believe our previous (Harper) government was xenophobic ... as are many current conservative elements in our society. We now have a new Liberal leader who, by all accounts, really cares for our citizens ... current and future.

Let's let our new government know just how broken this system really is.

That is what I'm trying to say, let us all get together and present this flawed system to Hon. Minister of CIC.
As I said this too, that, why double work, by refusing, and then after appellant wins, work on file again. Just to keep job active, and claim CIC is overloaded.

Hello, when they request for certain document, just provide them with that only, never send other documents. In such cases, they think otherwise, although they've finalized on your application, and seems all is coming out to be well.

These long wait times are inhumane. And even real marriages may suffer due to the long separation periods and stress associated with this process. The worst part is having to put your whole life on hold, suspended indefinitely. This truly is a very big hardship on any relationship.

I couldn't agree more. I have lost a lot in the 4 years I have been fighting this battle, emotionally, physically, trust and the list goes on. I don't know how long more I can fight because I am so drained, it sucks the energy out of you.

I am not sure if it does, but I use to call my case officer once every month to find out the status of my application. I guess its more of knowing where your application is and peace of mind lol.

@WaitingSince2012 you really called your office every month? What did you say? What exactly is their role in all this? I'm so nervous to talk to them :-[. I called last week and the switchboard operator was very friendly and helpful. She told me who my caseworker is and gave me her phone # and extension but I just got voicemail. I left a message and haven't heard anything back yet.

Wait till you received the letter.
Also, if you have submitted passports, and medical done, then they would send you the stamped passport.

Congrats on your ppr.... You dont have to send in anything for your daughter at all since she is already a Canadian citizen with a Canadian passport. You are the one that going to need your visa and landing papers since you are not a citizen like your daughter. I hope tis help you out

I understand the anxiety, as we'd gone through it recently, after 4 years, the status changed to "Decision Made" ...with comment, correspondence sent...and all we got after 4 full years of wait......"REFUSAL".
Am giving you a frank opinion, and not trying to scare you.
Prepare yourself for the worst, and you may get better news.

Hey taj p how are you doing... Just have faith my friend.. some ppl get decision made before they get ppr.. you should hear something very soon. I read that someone got decision made and got ppr 2 weeks after so just pray for the ppr and you will get it.

She got ppr on April 1,2015 so that is almost 1 month after DM she got ppr.... you will sure hear from them soon... i know that happen to alot more ppl
