I got offer letter from Lakehead University and University of Regina for M.Sc. in Computer Science (Thesis). Still waiting for another 2 university (Memorial University of Newfoundland and Windsor University) for their decision.

Any one here got acceptance yet from any university? Please share your experience.

Wish we can all help each other for our visa processing using this platform.

Visa chance for college admission is low. As u know, getting acceptance from college is literally easy comparing universities. So, many people try to get admission in such colleges where their main intention is to settle down in Canada.

For getting visa, u have to show 6 months bank statement of ur sponsor and sponsor funding should be not less than 1 year tuition fee + 1 year living cost + round air ticket. This is the minimum requirement but as more as u can show is always better.

I m in uk and my husband and family in ottowa..the problem is uk nd canadian rules of student visa is quit different...but we just want to try this year once he is lucky...I found a college Algonquin college.....

And yes about money in my parents join account we can show 40-50 lucks...is there any problem if we show another fixed account aswell???

My bro is 15 years old...I dnt know if cic has any problem about age....

U have to evaluate the total tuition fee + living cost + round air ticket price. If its below 40-50 lac taka then u r in safe side in the matter of financial solvency. Try to show ur parents fixed assets using CA evaluation of property documents, so that it could be ur family tie to ur home country. As he is under 18 years age, so I think he have to get written permission from his parents. U should check the VFS website for detailed check list about this matter.

There r some rules and something beyond rules. The minimum rule for funding is 1 year tution + 1 year living cost + return plane fare. U have to keep such amount of money in bank account as liquid or FDR for 4 months (I am not sure about this 4 months maturity period thing but keep it in mind for safety. Coz some successful applicant talked about it in this forum)

In Bangladeshi perspective, situation is quite different. The general rule is that you SHOULD show AT LEAST a year worth of money. But in that case, you should show that your sponsor has a continuous flow of income to sustain both you and his family with that money for the 2nd year (along with the first year too). Because if you show that you need suppose $24k and your sponsor is showing $24k, then they will reject the application because if the sponsor is showing that amount then how will he sustain his family back here AND how will he provide the money for the 2nd year.

So, it is always a safe bet to show the money for total living (most of the successful applications without scholarship show that). And that should be more than the expense obviously. So, you should show more then $48k, that way the VO will be convinced that your sponsor got enough money to sustain you and his family also. This is where many people get rejected although they show the right amount of money - "SUSTAIN BOTH YOU AND HIS FAMILY". Remember, everywhere it is written "FUND AVAILABLE" not "FUND YOU ARE WILLING TO SPEND" or something like that.

Another thing is, its always been better not showing any relatives in Canada. Because that will loose ur family tie with ur home country. VO maybe will think that u will never back to BD, ur main intention is settle down there.

Don't rely on any agency. Most of the BD agency r money suckers. They will lead u to a rejection and apply again and again to hold ur money in their account as FDR. That is their main business. Believe me.

I got admission in MUN and will be applying for visa very soon.I needed some help.I am showing my uncle as my sponsor.In this case how do i show my relationship.I also need some samples of "Declaration of sponsorship" if the sponsor is other than parent,Statement of Purpose,a letter of explanation why he (sponsor) is sponsoring me.Any help will be greatly appreciated.Thnx.

Congrats for MUN acceptance. I also applied in MUN but didn't get reply yet. Can u please tell me when u get their response/offer letter? Please share ur profile. R u funded or self-funding?

If u r funded by MUN then everything is just a piece of cake. Just a written statement from ur uncle about declaring ur relationship, intention and financial statements r enough. But for self-funding its always better to show someone of ur first blood for sponsoring u.

Anyways, I think affidavit of sponsorship do the same purpose of declaration of sponsorship and u could mention there at the last para ur uncle's intention about why he sponsoring u too. Statement of purpose is just for uni admission. U have to submit a study plan for visa only, not a SOP.

S Uddin, maybe my this reply will be a bit harsh. But sorry to say, ur IELTS score is not appropriate for Canada education. Maybe u will be able to get an admission from low ranked college but using that acceptance getting visa in Canada will be so tough. If u have good academic background then try to improve ur IELTS score atleast 6.5 and apply for a university. That will increase ur possibilities of getting visa.

If u unable to do that, than I will suggest u to make a backup plan to go other countries. Like Europe, Australia etc.
