Guys,

Got my Medical request and RPRF along PCC request from Singapore VO yesterday. Letter date is 18th July. Well, i have two a quick question:

PCC: I have my FBI and local (Bangladesh) PCC taken in March 2011. Which is also most more than 4 months now. Since i was expecting the PCC requests much earlier, i ordered them after i got my PER on February 2011. Now, i have heard that PCC is valid for 3 months. However, the letter i have got from SGVO along with MR and RPRF does not specify an expiration period. Should i just send the PCC i have with me? Local new PCC is not an issue and can be obtainable within a week; but FBI would take minimum of 2 months to reproduce a new one - which would kill my 60 days time frame.

Anyone with an insight?

Thanks,

Mamun

One more thing:

on my Medical paper: my last name is written as "AL MAMUN" whereas in my application it is written as "AL-MAMUN". They just missed "-" on my name. I have seen lot of port authority and embassies from other countries also erase this "-" with a space before. I am just being little cautious, if this is an issue.

My son also has the same sur name and his name is printed as "AL-MAMUN". So, is that a mistake that they replace this with a space on my name? More importantly, my passport also have a space in name, even though some of my other documents such as academic, marriage certificate have "-" in that. Wired situation. Even in my PCC requested from local authority gave space. no "-". But FBI PCC has "-".

What should i do now? >:(

hurray...congrats Akash vi...
I knew SGVO is currently working on OCT 2010 applicants... :D :D :D
PCC: PCC is valid for 1 year. if u send PCC to CIO (not VO) then you have to sure that it is not more than 3 months old. Since you are sending PCC to VO, no worries.
by the way, you must get your bank draft from Standard chartered bank, BD from other banks will not be accepted.

good luck

As Mr. Hasaib said...for RPRF SGVO only accepts bank draft from Standard chartered bank for BD applicant. There are some documents will be asked by Standard chartered bank for issuing the bank draft.

I suggest all of you to keep these below documents with you when you will go to Standard chartered bank, Dhaka for issue the bank draft for RPRF:

1. Application of the candidate [Photocopy]. This is the generic application that you have submitted to CIO in the begining.
2. Passport [Photocopy]. Applicant and family members.
3. Fee Schedule.
4. Letter from authority.
5. Nikah-Nama (for spouse who have been selected.)
6. Money Receipt for medical checkup.

As per CIC's EG7 booklet(page 19):
Note: If you are including your police certificates with your application to the CIO, please ensure that your certificates were not issued more than three months earlier. Police certificates are generally valid for 12 months from the date they are issued. However, if a final decision is not made on your application before the expiry of your police certificate, the visa office may request that you provide a new one.

* PCC should not be over 3 months old : if applicant send PCC initially to CIO (not VO)

thanks,
Dr.Hasib

very informative post by Fighter..i would like to add 1 point. Some branches of SCB also require:
copy of "Form : Medical report"

Branches of SCB which are allowed to make BD for canada immigration:
-Gulshan branch,
-Kawronbazar branch,
-Dhanmondi branch.
not sure about other branches

Just to add with Hasib Bhai's note...

There are 3 branches of SCB at Gulshan... Gulshan Head Office (67, Gulshan Avenue) and North Gulshan Branch (Next to Spanish Embassy, 189 Gulshan Avenue) are issuing Demand Drafts in CAD.

3rd Branch which is also located on Gulshan avenue is the Saddiq Branch (Islamic Banking Branch) isn't issue the DD or PO in Foreign Currency

Just FYI, Banani Branch of SCB is not handling any Foreign currency DD , PO etc.
