Bhai, the link is in your Passport Request Letter, www.newcomersuccess.ca
and register at this link : https://2register.planningforcanada.ca/register/index.php
you will need your PPR mail (.pdf copy) to register.

After registration, a mail will ask your confirmation for booking the CIIP. Once confirmed, they will send you the schedule of next CIIP session.
Thanks a lot.. Appreciate your responses.

Can you share your experiences if you have already done the CIIP session.

APARTMENT RENT:
Downtown Toronto: 1 bedroom apartment: $1000 - $1600 +Hydro [Electricity]+Parking
Downtown Toronto: 2 bedroom apartment: $1500 - $3000 +Hydro [Electricity]+Parking
Scarborough [East part of Toronto]: 1 bedroom apartment: $850 - $1200 +Hydro [Electricity]+Parking [sometimes including all]

for 3 persons family: 2-6 months: $150 - $300 [like চাল, ডাল etc. also depends how much you eat and what you eat]

Weekly bus pass: $43.75 per person
Tickets or Token: $3.00 [need to buy min. 3 for $9]
Cash fare: $3.25
[ref. https://www.ttc.ca/Fares_and_passes/Prices/index.jsp]

Per month: $35 - $90 [Canada wide unlimited talk + text + some data including smartphone. Depends on provider and their plan]

INTERNET:
Per month: $55 - $90 [unlimited download. Depends on provider]

Believe me you'll gonna waste your time in CIIP session. This forum is way better than this CIIP session. I did that and that was a total waste of time. You might get some web link though, nothing much.

In order to carry fund, we have options for taking Cash/securities in bearer form (for example, stocks, bonds, debentures, treasury bills)/bankers’ drafts, cheques, travellers’ cheques or money orders.

My question to the experienced seniors- which is the best form for carrying funds ? like, it can be assumed-Bank draft takes long time to encash, large sum of cash is somwhat difficult to carry, taking CAD or USD, etc..

Recently some banks are offering 'Travel Card'- i.e prepaid plastic money which can also be endorsed in Passport. Would that be a convinient alternative? any suggestion/idea?
You can carry whatever means you like. My opinion is to endorse USD in passport and rest of the money carry in cash. In Canada immigration you just need to declare how much money you are bringing. They are not going to ask anything. So carry as much as you can and do not left anything to carry later. That will add tax I believe. Even for gold. Carry as much gold as you like for the first time.

Hi all

I am planning to land in Toronto around April 2017. People who are planning to land in Toronto near April 2017, can we have a plan regarding the preparation.

Thanks
Everyone who is planning to land in Canada soon, my advise is please try to arrange a get together. Believe me that helps a lot. I did arrange 2 get togethers with this forum members back in 2013/14 and that helped us a lot. Still I kept in touch with some members who lives in Toronto. So please do that.

How to register for CIIP:
I received few emails after my MR with subject "Get help before arriving in Canada – FREE Pre-arrival services funded by the Government of Canada". Those email had links to various agencies who offer CIIP session. Below is a excerpt from such an email.

Get help before arriving in Canada – Pre-arrival services

On behalf of the Government of Canada, the department of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) encourages you to access FREE pre-arrival services offered by third-party service providers funded by IRCC.

We encourage you to visit this link to learn more about the service locations and registration procedures as featured in our Pre-arrival Services website:

www. cic.gc.ca/english/newcomers/before-services
There are free online and in-person services for you and your family. These services are provided to you free of charge by the settlement service providers listed below while you are still overseas. Many service providers offer general information such as:
· understanding life in Canada,
· finding a job in Canada, and
· accessing other free settlement services when you arrive in Canada.

Other settlement service providers offer very specific information. To find the best service providers to fit your needs, explore the list of service providers below and select according to your profession or your destination (city or province). You are allowed to get services from as many different service providers as you need, and always at no cost.

Experience:
The above mentioned link ( www. cic.gc.ca/english/newcomers/before-services ) has a list of many CIIP session providers. I joined "Planning for Canada", as they had in-person session option, which they held in Bangladesh earlier. But right now, they don't have any such session planned for Bangladesh. So, I was forced to join their online program.

For registering I had to fill-up a form online, which required my UCI number & many other details, which takes 15-20 minutes. You will need to upload the email from VO which invited you for CIIP program. Alternatively, you can provide your MR email or some other specified document also.

1st part is a day long online session, (9:30 AM to 4:00 PM BD time) with 150+ slides & lecture by multiple speakers. We interacted via chat/polling options. We had to install a software in our PC. They provided the link via email, few days before the session. Along with a 40 minute lunch break & few 5-10 minute breaks, the session was kinda interesting. ( Some ppl seemed to know very little about Canada. They asked weird questions ! I guess the session was much more interesting for them ;-) ) It's called a GO (General Orientation session). Main agenda's were: Intro, Discovering Canada, Working in Canada, Living in Canada, Becoming Canadian, next Steps etc.

They will arrange a one-to-one MAP (My Action Plan) session in next few days, with a duration of 90 minutes. In that session they will ask for my resume & provide me with a list of FPP (Focal point partners).

"CIIP Focal Point Partners (FPPs) are key immigrant-serving agencies and colleges in each province that are the first point of contact for CIIP clients, who are strongly encouraged to reach out to these organizations as early as possible pre-arrival to begin the settlement process. These organizations also act as hubs, making onward referrals to other education institutions or organizations that serve immigrants depending on the individual needs of each CIIP client."

The 1st session can also be accessed via android phone or tab. I checked the option but sound quality was low & interaction was tough. You don't need microphone for it, but a speaker is must. I'll provide more update after the MAP session in Friday.

I think most people do it by hiding exact amount in immigration police at Bangladesh airport.

I totally agree with this opinion from Ekarus vai.. I think we all who will land on April can meet at March and discuss important things like taking money, landing, renting and that will help us to be prepared. Let's open a group for Bangladeshis landing on Canada on April.
By the way I am landing on 24th April with my wife and child.. :)

Bhai, anybody ever pondered about the any other options? The feeling of getting harased by BD customs at airport, just prior to boarding is very suffocating.
