My final destination is Halifax. I am going for my first landing this September, will be returning after a month. One of my relatives in Canada bought ticket for me, turkish airlines, which will first land in Montreal and then I will go to Halifax by Air Canada. In this case, where will my landing formalities be held, Montreal or Halifax? Is it allowed for an FSWP to land in Montreal, Quebec? Please confirm.

Hi! Quebec immigration needs CSQ#, which FSW applicant does not have but still you can land in Quebec. However, In Montreal they'll stamp on your passport but as a FSWP, your landing obligations would not complete till you register your landing records by own at local immigration office in Halifax. Immigration officer might ask you why did you land there (common answer is, not all destinations have direct international flights). Hope this would help.

You misunderstood! They've sent money receipt of CAD 1100 which is normal.

From ur time line I can see that u landed in December. As far as I know winter begins from December in Canada. So how did u cope up with extreme cold and find a job. Wasn't it difficult ? Plz share ur experience as I also intend to land in December but do not get enough courage.

Dear Forum mates,
Kindly be informed that I have got the medical request on May 19, 2016 and done my medical on May 30,2016 and also forwarded all my required documents through Fedex on June 14, 2016. My ecas is now showing medical result received and mycic is showing Medical passed and background check not started. In the mean time yesterday i got a letter from Singapore office through courier where I found my & my wife's pictures and certified cheque of CAD 1100 which I gave in favor of the Receiver General of Canada during my application on 17th November, 2014. I also got a receipt where it is written the amount of CAD 1100 and the date of payment on 2015-01-13. Now I am in a confused situation. Have they cancelled my application or something else? I will be grateful to get clarification from the senior members.

I received the same things few days before my PPR. and I got my visa in last month.
but they didn't send back my DD cheque. please make sure that whether it's the money receipt or not.

you cannot land in montreal. You have to land somewhere else. For first time landing, you have to land in other states except quebec. After that, you can go to quebec. BUt, for the first time, it will not be allowed. So, please change your ticket asap.

One of my friend told me that when he went to Standard Chartered Bank for dollar endorsement they informed him that according to BB's role it is not possible to endorse dollar before 15 days of departure and they can endorse only 1k dollar although they have dollar and one can endorse 5k for PR. Please refer to M_BD. Immigration officer will definitely ask to know your intention to stay in Quebec or not. Show him your ticket to Halifax and tell him that you are going to Halifax from Montreal and due to limited international flight, you cannot avail the direct flights to Halifax.

You dont need to change flight schedule and also, it will be costly for you at this moment.
