Received by SVO : 12/10/12
Visa Issued : 29/10/12
Released by SVO : 02/11/12
Received by VFS : 04/11/12

VFS didn't call me or emailed me, got updated from the tracker.

My ecas still showing 'In Process', I don't know why ???

I just got the Medical form along with Passport request through register mail.. Alhamduliallah... Hope all you will get the same who are waiting for such a long time..

The date of letter posted is 30/10/2012

You are correct with this amount as PoF, but if some one carry lesser amount 25-50% of PoF will make any trouble.
Or, have any type of bad experience (for PoF) with any new immigrant.

I only got a generalized auto reply and waiting for the case specific reply.

Dear Arasah,

If the customs/immigration officer ask you to show the POF then you will have to show the full amount and if u fail to do so, you could be in big trouble. But if they dont ask for it then you r through. But u will have to tell them how much you are carrying. It will be tax free. If u take money later it will be taxable. This is what I know. Basically I DO NOT prefer taking any risks here and also fully rely on the posts of Mr. Qorax, one of the respected bloggers. Please find the following paragraphs from one of his threads. Hope this will clarify...

Is it necessary to carry the P.O.F. while 'Landing' ?
100%. A part of the 'Record of Landing' "Interview" is to ensure 'sustainability' in Canada by the applicant. The IO must ensure that you carry enough funds [based on LICO] which will help you settle easily, w/out any burden on Canadian Social Services. Remember, except for 'refugees' under the Refugees Protection Act, Canada doesn't offer financial assistance for any other categories of applicants.

Irrespective of the no. of family members performing the 1st landing, the entire POF [as per the chart above] must be shown to the IO at the POE. Subsequent 'landings' by the 'accompanying dependents' do not need to show the POF.

That means, whether the PA alone or one or more of his family members are 'landing' for the 1st time, the above funds are required. It's another matter whether the IO at the POE doesn't ask for it [very often that happens]. But, w/out the POF our entry CAN BE 'Denied'.
