No vai you don't have to carry full amount. But at your time of MR they will ask for bank statement for 6 months and they will see if you have the minimum funds for 4 members. Then when going to Canada first time you can carry any amount with you. You have to declare the funds you're carrying if it is more than 10,000$. Rarely they ask to see your funds.

Guys ive just heard that SVO has stopped already sending anymore MR for pre-juners. They'll start again may be in next sep/oct 2012.

This may not be correct, they cannot stop until and unless new MI is announced. So don’t panic.
