Well even if they can process that many applicants.....they cannot nominate more than 2000 applicants a year. That is the yearly limit including the family stream, engineering occupation, employer driven , US Stream .....
Where do you get that number from, 2000 nominations per year?
Alberta may face a shortage of 100,000 workers over the next ten years - http://employment.alberta.ca/documents/WIA/WIA-IM_framework_overview.pdf

Alien3,

The number 2000...initially I got the number from the lawyer I was thinking of hiring to file my documents.

Read the article "The Provincial Nominee Program" it's a CBC news article from the following link.(Originally was posted on CBC website but I cannot locate the link )

The speed at which they are sending nomination we should not be expecting any better (not to disappoint any body here)

A friend of mine (actually he told me about this program) file number 064X got his number in February. The confirmation mail said something like 60 days for nomination. He called them sometimes in February end was promised that he is very close will definitely get it very soon. Still waiting....!!!!!

I will be delighted if they can speed up the process

To reiterate my earlier point the odds of a smart, educated person with good communication skills succeeding in Canada are fairly high, the lack of any of the above three will be a hindrance no matter where a person goes!
Cheers,
good luck to you my friend...
