hello guys i got my alberta immigrant nominee letter, now i am preparing my filing for cic, i dont have my birth certificate, is there any alternate document i can submit, or this will be an issue? your Help will be highly appriciated, thankx..
PS- i am from india..
Hi sep28,
I had a problem regarding my birth certificates. I had submitted birth certificates of mine and my wife's which were issued by Indian consulate in New York. But unfortunately, CIO has returned my application as they did not accept consulate issued birth certificates.
Alternatively, CIO requested for any one of the following documents.
1. Birth certificates which we get from Municipal office in India.
2. If you don't have the above one, get NO-BIRTH record certificate from the municipal office (or) gram panchayat in proper format
3. If you can not get either number 1 or 2, make an affidavit from your mother or father or from both that shows you are their son/daughter and get it notarized.
4. Your school leaving certificate (10th class/12th class) that should show full names of you and your father or mother or both parents.
If you can submit any one of the above documents, you are totally fine.
Remember one thing, any of above document MUST show full names of you and your father or mother or both parents.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if you need more info onthis.
Thanks,
Sarayu.
