After receiving medical request, when is the latest that medicals can be done?

My friend is a June 2012 applicant. He moved to US in Feb 2013. He has received his MR in March. When is the latest that he can get his medicals done by? Is there a time frame until which the medicals need to be done, else the MR expires? Seniors, appreciate any response.

The latest as far as I know is 2 months from the date when he actually received the request.
If it is still late for him to do the medicals, better to inform CIC about this.
