We need a lot more information about how and where you applied. Whatever your answer, the next step is "waiting".

If this is an "outland" spousal sponsorship under the Family Class, why did your application get sent to CEM and not CPC-M? I am a little confused.

how long do we have to wait? how many months do you think is the next step?

yes "OUTLAND". because in the email we received from them they said to send all the documents in this address

Visa Section (LC2) – Embassy of Canada

Level 6, Tower 2, RCBC Plaza

6819 Ayala Avenue

Makati City 1200

Philippines....

in CEM....

Have you done your medicals and got your PCCs yet? If not, they will be next.

If you are not asked for an interview, the PPR might be next and that could easily be a year away. Processing time in CEM is 14 months for 80% of applications to be completed.

Your wife isn't a PR yet, right? She is applying and you are on her application as her spouse?

The wait time for LCP PR is 38 months. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm-ec.asp

That's what's confusing me. He said that she was the "sponsor" and that he is the "principal applicant"...

Yeah, he wasn't given quite enough information to properly answer........

......... but all processing times can be found on or near that link I provided, so hopefully it'll work out........ :D

(All Family Class goes through CPC-M, that's where they do Sponsor Approval!)
