If you are living in Canada with your baby, you can get child tax benefit and child care benefit from the Canadian govt. Be aware that if you return back home, you need to notify them because continuing to collect benefits if you leave Canada will be considered fraud.

Here is a link how to apply:

Keep in mind the child care benefit isn't that much money. Certainly not enough to live on.

If you had been working in Canada for a few months before you had the baby, you would have gotten maternity leave but you are not eligible for that if you never worked in Canada.

You could try welfare but I don't think they give you very much. You could look to rent with other single parents and watch each others kids so some of you can work at least part time.

you will have materniity and or parental benefits only if u have 600 work hours before you decide tu go on maternity and or parental leave. last year i was working til august and gave birth in september , just that i get that 600 hours and now i have 1 year benefits . so you will not get any of these benefits if u didnt work before at least 600hours .

You may qualify for welfare - but it's not very much money and it won't allow you to live a very good life.

From what I have heard, people on welfare get just enough money to either pay rent or eat but not both. Maybe with a kid, you get more. There are also charity organizations like soup kitchens etc. where you may get a free meal and there are food banks where you can get free food.

It's very cold in winter. But many children obviously live there.

you dont have any benefits if u mean on helath benefits with pr . pr is that you can work in canada . benefits depends from your employer . if u have helath card which u will get with pr than u will have covered doctors. but not dentist not eye doctor and something like that. that benefits u will get from your employer .
if u get pr by pnp mean you are nominated by some province, you need to live and work in that province next 5 years . if u get pr on any other way then i think you caqn live whenever you want . btw every province is different , all rules are different . each province is like different country

If you are a PNP applicant, you need to settle in your PNP province but you can move later if you want to. There is no rule about any certain number of years you have to stay.

If you get health care in SK, you need to stay in SK at least 6 months. If you do, SK health will cover you after you move to Toronto while you serve the 3 months waiting time to get OHIP. If you don't stay 6 months, SK could accuse you of health care fraud and make you re-pay everything they covered for you. So basically make up your mind, either start in SK but don't apply for SK health and move to Toronto soon and be aware that you need emergency insurance for you and your baby during the first little while in SK plus 3 months in Ontario while you wait to get OHIP or you commit to staying in SK 6 months, get health care in SK and then take it with you to ON.

Another point of leaving, if you were sponsored as a PNP applicant by a family member, your sponsor will be barred from sponsoring anybody else if you leave. Be aware that this can cause bad feelings between you and your sponsor who may have wanted to sponsor their other family members as well.

As for the child tax benefit and universal child care benefit, they are federal so they travel with you when you move to Ontario. If you had registered in SK for some other benefits like welfare, you would lose them when you move and have to apply for similar in Ontario.

Your PR card is equally valid in all of Canada.
