Hello,

This is regarding the translation of documents. When the translator translates to English do they need to sign in the original document with a statement this is a true translation or statement itself is enough with notary signature.

When I have enquired they mentioned translator will not sign the documents they mention only the statement that it's a true translation with the notary sign and seal.

Appreciate if someone can comment on this.

translator must sign & stamp on the photocopy and both should be attached with each other, after translation he/she should make a photocopy from the original document and both the docs should be singed and stamped (photocopy of the original documents + translated documents)

Is this for a certified translator? If not, an affidavit mentioning original document would be fine with a scanned copy of original?

yes this is for certified translator and if any government body i.e. notary public or licensed public officer attest the doc then they would sign and stamp on the original document (mostly they sign & stamp on the back side of the original doc) and then sign & stamp on the translated copy. The same thing would be apply on the digitally signed & stamped procedures where it is applicable
