I thought I can share some experience and it can help people. So I applied for PR along with 6 other friends in nov n dec 2012. 4 out of them who applied under pnp already got their PR. While 2 of us are still waiting for our medicals.

So try to go with pnp if you can it will be speedy process.

Though I was reading some where that CEC was much faster in the past. May be its strike which is affecting the whole process
Thanks

Thanks, but we need to find an employer for PNP. Could you please suggest how to find an employer for PNP.

Ha ha :) ...I said if you can, if ur already working for 6 month then u can apply. I checked AINP they have new category where u don't need your employer.

It's AINP strategically recruitment scheme

Thanks for your reply. I have been working for more than a year in Canada now. Please let me know somemore details about AINP, this is something new to me.

Looks like this is for people working in Alberta. I am working in Toronto, Ontario.

Yeah this one is for Alberta. I regret every day not applying under PNP

Do you have any idea about any such scheme from Ontario?

Ontario has pnp. You have to have a company willing to sponsor you though - this costs $2,000 per family. The company has to go through approval process to become a sponsor - if your company has never done this then they will be starting from scratch.
Once pnp is received you have to apply for pr within 6 months. CIC is supposed to prioritize pnp pr's but strangely, pnp management has no influence over this so it could still be a gamble.
Hope this helps

No it's not a gamble pnp is much much faster specially
In Alberta. If u go n check pnp forum on this site you can see how fast time line are

My employer offered to apply for Ontario PNP last year but I thought CEC is much faster as I know people who applied under CEC last year were getting their PR in 8 months. Some of my friends applied under NB PNP and NS PNP they haven't received their PR yet, its been almost 1 1/2 years for them.

I applied in Oct 2012 under CEC, still waiting :(

Same happened with me. CEC was fast when I applied in November. But, what I can say luck..some one told me medicals are faster in CEC then In PNP

This information is not wholly accurate. The PNP program for Ontario is called "Opportunities Ontario," and it has 6 different options, it is possible to qualify in more than one way (e.g. as a TFW). The $2,000 application fee is only for those located in the GTA - it's $1,500 outside the GTA (still outrageous, tho).

Time frames are different than for Alberta as well.

Can you apply PNP along with CEC ?

I applied as CEC, but now I'm also qualified for PNP, should I submit another docs along with CEC ? Because I'm afraid my CEC will be rejected due to miscalculation of work experience but the process is probably not gonna be done anytime soon due to the strike. It would take them a while to reject me, I image.

They don't miscalculate it unless u did it Wrong. And you are close to get MR wait don't go for pnp.

I did wrong, I miscalculated my work experience. I tried to update them with new info, but it's up in the air whether they would consider it. That's why I'm wondering if I could apply PNP along with CEC
