Hello everyone,

I and my wife are currently studying PhD at Quebec. However, there are some problems so my wife intend to stop her PhD. Therefore, I would like to ask about what we need to do in this case? We have separate visa for PhD in four year. But when she stop, whether her visa is still valid or not if she still want to stay here. Does she have to change VISA according to me?

If anyone has experienced on this problem, please help!
I really appreciate your consideration.

Best regards,
Elvis

I think she can have a leave of absence and still keep the student visa. If she decides to quit, she will have to change her visa to a spouse work permit or temporary resident.

Thanks TyrusX for your advice. In case, she quit her PhD and apply for spouse work permit or temporary resident:

1. How many percents spouse work permit or temporary resident will be issued for my wife?
2. How long time it will be expired? Is it dependent on my study permit?

Any suggestion in this case?
Thank you everyone
