I'm hoping someone here can help me with this.

I submitted my PR application in July, and got an ADR in August, one of which was for military records. I submitted the translated and certified military card right away, and included as much information as I could remember (my compulsory military service was +10 years ago). Today I got another ADR for Military Records (IMM 5546) and it says provide a certified copy of your military records. What else should I be providing?

Any info would be much appreciated!

Hi did you receive any update since then? I was asked to submit similar documents in my ADR

Looks like my application was picked for a comprehensive security check. Soon after this ADR, I got an update on the tracker saying "Background verification status has been updated to In progress".

that’s too bad. sad to hear..I guess I should as well be prepared for SS then. I received an ADR that’s similar to the first one you got in August (CV schedule A, travel history etc). Submitted my response 10 days ago and no update since then

Hi there, we have applied on November 2024, provided the ADR for military services in March 2025, our application has been forwarded to CBSA.. notes confirm the same thing, rather then that all completed. I hope it will be a shorter wait for you

It is a frustrating process for sure. Can you tell us how long after you applied it was sent to CBSA? and was there any movement from November 2024 and the ADR?

November 2024 - applied through PEQ (inland)
January 2025 - AOR+Biometric+Med
February 2025 - Med passed
March 2025 - Pre-Arrival services email
March 2025 - ADR - CV+Military Service form
August 2025 - Request for notes
September 2025 - Confirmation ADR documents well received, the CBSA got our application, and is under background check..

Per IRCC website - we see there approximately 4k people before us and 1 month left until processing (exceptions apply..)

Thank you for sharing your timeline. I hope you get some good news very soon.

Hello,

In all my previous temporary applications (two spousal OWPs and one TRV) I answered "No" to the military service question because I thought a one-month basic training under Uzbekistan's Mobilization Conscription Reserve (2015, physical training only, no rank recorded, deregistered 2016) did not qualify as "military service".

In the TRV application IRCC requested military documents in October 2025. I submitted LOE + IMM 5546 + contract + Military ID + translations. After that I withdrew the TRV to avoid any issues and disclose everything in PR.

Now my wife is submitting Express Entry PNP PR and I am the accompanying spouse. I plan to disclose the same training with the same documents and a neutral LOE explaining that at the time I understood the question as referring to regular compulsory or ongoing service.

Has anyone done something similar?
  • Answered "No" earlier for short-term/reserve training
  • Disclosed in PR with LOE and docs
  • What was the result (approval without issues, PFL, or something else)?
Appreciate any real experiences!
