I hope to god one of you might be able to shed some light on this matter for me. I lodged my application for immigration during April this year, under the "skilled worker's" profile. My intention is not only wanting to provide a better future for my family, but also to get to know of the family I've never had the oppurtunity of meeting before.
In short my mother was adopted at birth, and having reached adulthood was some how able to trace her biological mum, who resides in Canada (Winnipeg).
I'm currently 36 years of age and can remember from years ago as a kid receiving christmas cards and photos, etc from Canada, these from be it aunt's, uncles, cousins, whatever.
The question I have, and having spoken to my mum, even though they exchange cards, and phone calls now and then, there exists no legal bond between them as mother and daughter, given she was raised by an adoptive family.
Given the Canadian authorities feeling towards uniting families, does a scenarion such as this not count?

Nope, once your mother was adopted all ties (legal) were severed from her birth family.
