A 3 month trip is not a short trip in my opinion, so it is better to add it in both Address and Travel History sections. Good Luck!

Nope- this needs to be mentioned only under Travel History. Anything above 6 months make sense to be catgeorized under Address History.

Another question about address in my residence country:
Do I put the address I was staying officially or in reality? For example I was studying in university (which is seen in my education and personal history) in one city for several years, but officially I was registered in my hometown in parents place.

It’s a fact and I did the same and received PPR in 22 days. I have travelled to over 15 countries and spent over 3 months at a stretch in some, and developed a succinct format that explains this with the number of days spent per trip- didn’t even receive the additional document request.

I've been twice travelling for months at a time - in the US backpacking for 6 months (194 days to be exact). I didn't have a set address at this time and moved around a lot, staying with friends, in hotels, in different states etc. Should I put my address as my parent's at the time? Or maybe one of the friends I stayed with?

You got to mention all the addresses that you have stayed during the past 10 years with approx dates. Try to be as accurate as possible. However, if you miss something or put the dates wrong for a certain address, you don't have to worry about it as they understand its hard to 100% accurate. But it is important that you give it your best shot.
