Additional information request from visa office

Hello, we applied in April 2020 outland. Gave medical and biometrics in December. Just now received letter that they need additional information. This info was already all submitted with original application. We called immigration in Canada but we were told we need to call office in Vienna.
Has anyone received request for documents that you already submitted.
Also they want medical done for dependent even though dependent is not coming to Canada and we only received blank form, is this the normal process?

Yes - all dependents must complete the medical even if they aren't coming to Canada.

Criminal record check for 2 countries. One was submitted with application and the other one was submitted 2 months ago when requested and send with priority delivery and we have proof of delivery.
How are we able to do medical if there is no info on the medical request form for the doctor to submit. We received one form for applicant and another blank form.

For the criminal record checks, you should respond and indicate what you have said above. Provide copies of the criminal record checks along with your response.

I'm not sure about the second item. Hopefully someone else will comment.

The criminal record check may have expired (the one sent with application), that is probably why they are asking again. Same happened with my husband. We sent one with application and now they are asking for another and also one from another country where he lived for school (not submitted with application).

Read the request carefully.

We had a similar experience and had to re-send ' updated ' forms and a previously sent criminal record check. Fortunately, we had 2 certified copy's of the criminal check and sent it again along with the the other requested forms by registered courier to the local visa office. IRCC has a lot of paperwork to deal with and I think things can go missing, not get scanned properly, or not forwarded to the local visa office?

The non accompanying dependent also requires medical. This is the normal process.
Contact the visa office by webform and ask them to send you the medical request form with file number and panel physician information.

Can't the OP just have the dependent get the medical done the same way as a person who is doing an upfront medical for a study visa etc., we did that for our nephew, made an appointment with a panel Doctor, didn't require a UCI or file number. I'm no expert and can only speak from personal experience but that sounds reasonable to me.

We had to redo the medical for a dependent because it expired and IRCC sent another request along with the file number.
Had to pay twice including extra travel expenses because the process took too long.....Oh well
Just gave them what they requested.
