My query is related to adding spouse

I have submitted my application in Aug 2020 I received my AOR by then after that I got done with my biometrics in the start of September 2020 after that there is a complete silence. Now I have got engaged so I need to ask what is the best time to add spouse and get married. Should it be after my COPR or before that I can marry and disclose it to the cic.

You should add your spouse after getting married. You are good to go if you add your spouse before your PPR. Your points won't be recalculated and you both will get PR at one go. Hope this helps.

Once you're married, you need to inform CIC by raising a webform.

CIC will send you the next steps - required forms & supporting documents checklist. Proceed then.

Hi Respected members,

Upon raising the CSE form to add a spouse during my PR application (CEC class, express entry)

I have been asked to submit the below-mentioned forms through IRCC webform.

  • A new Generic Application Form for Canada (IMM 0008) with supporting documents,
  • (If applicable) A Schedule A - Background/Declaration (IMM 5669) form,
  • (If applicable) An Additional Dependants/Declaration (IMM 0008DEP) form,
  • (If applicable) A signed Additional Family Information (IMM 5406) form,
  • A copy of the birth certificate, marriage certificate or proof of common-law relationship,
  • A copy of the family member's valid passport,
  • Police certificates for all countries where the family member over the age of 18 has lived for more than 6 months since turning 18,
  • A letter of explanation, and
  • If applicable, the proof of payment.

My questions are as follow :

    1. Is the birth certificate mentioned above is for me or for my spouse?
    2.What should the LOE include?
  • 3. I am not asked to submit any marriage pictures, is it normal?
  • 4.Shouldn't I be receiving this information on my CIC portal or the required documents be sent through IRCC webform?

I will really appreciate it if someone can help me in this regard.

1. It's for your spouse
2. If you have anything to explain then write it in LOE
3. Yes, they might be requested at a later stage, at officer's discretion
4. You need to upload all the documents via webform.

Thank you for the quick response@Maverick

2 more questions.

1.Can my spouse do an upfront medical if she is residing outside Canada?
2.They have not asked to submit the picture of my spouse at this stage, in case they ask, what should be the photo requirements, as for during my application I had a 35mm * 45 mm dimension but what I am reading for spouse requirements for PR application is 50 * 70 mm. Can you comment please?

Thanks again.

I got the similar email. while calling ircc.
but I have confusion regarding whom should fill the form. I again called ircc and agent told me something different than what I found during research.
Agent told me this.
IMM 0008 - must fill by applicant and add spouse as dependent.
IMM 5669 - only spouse has to fill it.
IMM 5406 - only spouse has to fill it.

agent also told me that they already have my information so they do not need IMM 5669 and IMM 5406 for my self.

can anyone confirm this please?

Just wanted to know if anybody is here with a similar situation, approved or in waiting? Can anyone tell me what I can expect next from CIC? Biometric request?
Thanks in advance.
