Adding on Common-law partner after starting my application.

Hello,

In few months, We will be qualified to be common-law relationship. So I've been thinking adding him on my application which i got my AOR on June this year.

Once, i added him on my application, what would be next steps and how is it going to work? I mean, are they going to hold on my application, check his and start processing together?

Does anyone have any similar situations?

I am not familiar with the process of adding people to an application; CIC will be your best source for this information along with making other changes to your application.

I would expect that it will delay the process of the application, at the very least CIC will check the validity of your common-law relationship.

Any advice on this? I am about to do the same but I don't know where to start.
Does my common-law partner need up-front medical exams? What do I have to amend from my previous application?
