Hi Everyone-

I am a PR holder , filed a family class sponsorship for my wife (outside Canada) and sent to the processing center in Mississauga. Stage is done , I qualified as a sponsor, and file was sent to the visa office.

Now, we have a new born that I need to add to the application..I inquired of the CIC and got the below response (basically, their typical answer) which is a bit confusing..My understanding is that I need to send to Mississauga center the following:

1. new undertaking form
2. new sponsor evaluation form
3. add on letter, fees, and supporting documents
4. Generic Application Form for Canada (IMM 0008) is NOT required, since the case is now in the visa office

Do I need to send anything to the visa office itself? also would the new born require medical exam and at what stage would they ask for that?

thanks for your help

To add a family member to the application, you have to download, fill out, validate and print the following forms** from our website and send them to the Case Processing Centre (CPC) in Mississauga, Ontario:
• A new Application to Sponsor, Sponsorship Agreement and Undertaking form (IMM 1344) completed by the sponsor,
• (If the application is still at the CPC in Mississauga) A new Generic Application Form for Canada (IMM 0008) with supporting documents,
• (If you are adding a dependent child of a dependent child) A Financial Evaluation form (IMM 1283) with supporting documents,
and
The add-on request including:
o your name,
o your client ID number/UCI,
o your file number,
o a letter of explanation,
o a copy of the birth certificate, marriage certificate or proof of common-law relationship, and
o if applicable, the proof of payment.

Congrats on the new addition!

Fill out the forms they highlighted. Pay the addidional fee. Then you can submit electronically via Case Specific Enquiry and I would follow up with a letter and the original forms sent via courier to CPC-Mississauga.

Hi..
i'm in the same boat.. my wife's application is in Ottawa. We didn't do her chest xray as part of her medicals.
we had a baby 8 days ago in NY.
I've enquired from CIC as to the next steps.
We will need 4-8 weeks to get baby's birth certificate and passport...
Can i ask, do you have these documents ready or will you fill in those new forms without birth certificate/passport?

I will wait till I receive my Son passport and then send the updated forms a long with the supporting docs.

When you say "case specific inquiry" this is addresses CPC in Mississauga or the visa office?

many thanks,

Yes, the baby will require a medical. Do it now and include it with the forms to avoid delays.

Sorry guys but I am still confused about this procedure so any clarifications from people who went thru similar cases would appreciated.

to recap the case:
- Applied to sponsor spouse in August 2016 and got approved to sponsor and the file was transferred to visa office (Bucharest) in September.
- We just had our new born and I need to add him to the file
- Called IRCC to check the procedure and they sent email indicating an (Add -on Application ) procedure thru which, I need to complete two forms (Sponsorship agreement or undertaking + sponsorship evaluation) and send to the CPC in Mississauga along with birth certificate and explanation letter and the required fees. All forms need to have (ADD -ON) written on them.
- There was something in the email indicating that if the file is still with CPC, then the generic application (IMM 0008) is needed - Since the file is with the visa office, I understood that I don't have to complete it.

Now I am wondering how the VO will have the child added to the file with them, are they going to come back to us and request forms and docs related to the child? he was not on his mother's application in the first place. Do I need to do anything with the visa office in Bucharest myself now?

apologies to post again asking but I am trying to be careful as I don't want this to delay the process.

many thanks
