My fiance applied for a study permit to Canada while he was in the USA on a tourist visa. He was granted one earlier but he has a couple courses left to finish so he applied for a second one as his first was about to expire.
After recieving GCMS notes, it became apparent that on the study permit application, for the dates that say "current country of residence" he wrote the dates his visa was valid and not the dates he was present in that country. The VO commented on the dates in that the VO thought my fiance was out of school for much longer than he actually was which was one of the reasons for denial.
The question now is if he reapplies with the correct dates and proof of these dates, and informs the VO that he made an honest mistake with the incorrect dates what are the chances that his study permit will be accepted? It seems that the main reason it was denied was because the VO that he was out of school for a longer period than what he actually was and this made my fiance seem unmotivated to finish. Also, if he does submit a new application with the correct dates, will this be considered misrepresentation?
Please advice. Thanks!! I am very worried!
