Hello,

I have 10 years of part time work experience (10 hours/week) in bookkeeping with a 3 month break. 8 years would be equivalent to a 40h full time job. Would that be accepted as work experience under the express entry (Canadian Experience Class)?

I worked 3 month full time as Web Designer. Can I add that to my work experience too or does it have to be in the same occupation for 1 year?

Thank you for your help.

Thank you for your help.

well !

if you have at least 12 months of full-time (or an equal amount in part-time) skilled work experience in Canada in the three years before you apply,

Thank you for the fast reply.

I will study one year and work one year in Canada.

However, in order to achieve enough points for the express entry to reiceive an invitation to apply for CEC, I still would need to show 1 year of work experience outside Canada. The question is if they (express entry) would accept my part time work and different occupation?

Thanks' a lot.

At 10 hours per week, you would need to work 3 years to acquire the equivalent of 1 year of full-time experience.

As long as you can document your part-time experience, including getting a letter from your emploeyr with hours worked per week & job duties and responsibilties (among other details), you should be fine.

You can include the 3 months as a web designer, but it may not add to your score, and you can't use that for your "primary NOC" (you have to have at least 1 year experience (or 1 year of FTE experience in your primary occupation)).

Thank you for your answers and help.

Would they also accept freelancer jobs in Webdesign?

"Freelance" usually means self-employed. Self-employed experience in Canada is not accepted. Outside of Canada, it can be used.
