abbreviation for university and degree name

Hi,
I have a question regarding filling out Background declaration form. In the Education and Personal History section I need to write my university name and type of degree.
However, my university name is not fitting into the space. Can I shortened it like below:

"National University of Singapore" as "National Univ. of Singa."

"Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology" as "Bang. Univ. of Engg. & Tech."

"Higher Secondary School Certificate" as "Higher Secon. Sch. Cert."


Or Can I hand written them as the front in the pdf file is to big to hold the full name of the university and the degree

NUS, Singapore is well known for most of the people.

Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, this is quite long. I would suggest put down the website address.
