Hi everyone, I’m currently working as an Environmental Engineer in Alberta under NAICS 2121 – Coal Mining. My core job is leading couple environment reports and projects, which were previously handled by consulting firms like Stantec. I’m now doing this work in-house, under the direct supervision of a Stantec P.Eng.

Does anyone know if this would qualify for the AAIP Accelerated Tech Pathway, even though my employer’s NAICS isn’t on the tech list?

Thanks in advance!

If employer is not on the tech list then not eligible. Simple as that.

Really appreciate you answer. In that case, am I eligible for ABEE priority sectors (construction), because I fall under civil engineer (same NOC code as environment engineer) ?I couldn’t find a clear indication in my EE profile to confirm whether my occupation is classified under construction.

There is no specific list of accepted occupations. However your occupation needs to be a construction industry occupation. IMO it would be a big stretch to say your occupation is a construction occupation. IMO it's clear it's not. But you could certainly get a consult with an immigration lawyer.

Don't know if engineer would be under construction NOCs. There are about 4000 EOIs in the priority sector with 182 spots remaining for 2025.
