hey guys,
should i send to CIC a copy of reference letter/verification employment OR original one ??

Its needed orignal. Check your visa office specific guide too for make sure.

if i sent the original one, can i get it back ?.. i don't want to send the original because i will need it when i apply for new jobs in the future.

I downloaded PDF checklist of my country visa office and it says in the top

Gather documents as listed. Check () each applicable item on the checklist and attach the checklist to your
documents (a paper clip will do). Place all the documents in a sealed envelope. Do not send originals. Send
photocopies of all documents, except the police fingerprint certificates and the police certificates, which
must be originals. If your documents are not in English or French, send a notarized (certified) translation
with a copy of the originals.

Yes, its general instrcutions for all documents usually writen at start, but they have also Particular instructions for each of section. Forexample, my visa office has same instructions as you pasted above , but when we scroll down and read each of particular section requrements, then WORK EXPERIENCE will go like this...

WORK EXPERIENCE
For you and your spouse or common-law partner: original and up-to-date letters
of reference from your past and current employers. Letters must be written on
company letterhead and show the company’s full address, telephone and fax
numbers, and be stamped with the company’s official seal.

Both versions are correct. If you do not want to send anything original, photocopy it, and get it notarized. But it also varies from country to country.

Here, read this example. I copied it sometime back from trackitt.com:
"Its really confusing. I emailed this query to CIC and got thsi reply.

Dear Sir/ Madam,

Thank you for your enquiry.
You are not required to submit your original documents when submitting information in
support of your application. Photocopies are acceptable. Notarized copies are not mandatory
unless specified otherwise. The immigration officer may need to see the original copy of a
document during the review process in which case you will be asked to send the original copy
to our office.
However, you MUST submit your original police certificate(s) and language test results (if
applicable). Also, translations must be notarized.
Yours sincerely,
Client Service Unit
London

This was the reply of this email.

Dear Sir/ Madam, I am requested to submit my documents to process application of Federal
Skilled worker immigration till 25th of May 2009. In London office guidelines it is
mentioned to submit original transcripts in university sealed envelops. I am currently resident
in UK but my most of my acadamic qualifications are from Pakistan. Unfortunatly in
Pakistan its not possible to get another original copy of your acadamic transcripts from
university. They only issue original transcripts once. Even if you need duplicate transcripts
from university if it takes more than 3 months to get and it is a long procedure. I tried my best
and only succeeded to get verified photo copies of my transcripts in university sealed
evelops. So, Is it alright if I send those sealed verified copies with my original transcripts? If
you need any further information please do not hesitate to contact me.
Thanks. Any ideas what we all should do ?"

I guess, Yes, if you were or are in employment, your employer will be in the position to give you one.
(As a prove that you were/are employed by him, what you do and have done, your salary etc.)

what if i submited employment contract only ?.. would it be ok ?

With all due respect, I don't know. How would I know anyway?. I am not the IO in Charge of your case. If it is their requirement, then I guess it will be OK. If not, then, I think you should, eMail them and ask them whether it is acceptable.

Maybe someone else knows the answer.

If it was "Employment referenece letter" only with your duties explanation, salary and duration, it might work. I am not sure if contract only is enough for prove your employment, dont you have pay slips or proof of paid taxes etc? by the way, submit any thing thats available, because you cant which is not in access but personally i'll recommend you to include one cover letter with explanation on that particular section, where you are unable to submit all required documents.
