Hi. I have worked in Canada for 2 years on IEC and am now on a 6 month visitor record valid until 10th January. I have also applied for a work permit as a live in care giver. I want to return to my home country, the UK for 10 days to visit my dad before he goes into hospital. Will there be any problems returning to Canada. I don't want to risk not been let back in. Thank you for any advice

You effectively lose your 6 month visitor record as soon as you leave Canada (i.e. the visitor record doesn't automatically allow you to re-enter Canada when you leave). When you return, you will be assessed as a visitor to Canada by immigration just as you would with any other visit. So is there some chance you might not be allowed back in after your visit? Yes. But I think that chance is very small given you're a UK passport holder.
