5 years spousal sponsorship HELP

Hi guys I need some help, my friends mom sponsored my friend almost 5 years ago, 2 years ago he got married and would like to sponsor his wife, i have heard rumours that he cant sponsor his unless 5 years have passed,!!however i cant find any evidence of this...? can you please advise?????

There is no impediment to sponsorship. The 5 years rule is NOT applicable in this situation.
