41 days. No response.

Hi:

I applied for visitor visa on October 9th through cic.gc.ca. It has been 41 days, and I still do not have any updates. All I can see is "We are processing your application. We will send you a message when there is an update or if we need more information from you."

Is there anyone on the same boat as me? I plan to travel on 1st December as my conference is on 3rd December. This means I have to get my passport stamped before 30th November. I have been patiently waiting for the last 40 days, but it is getting really difficult now. Registration fee, tickets, accommodation, all are booked. Any idea how long should I wait further?

BTW - The current processing time from India is 41 days.

You can send a IRCC web form to your local visa office to request for an expedited decision. That's the only thing you can do other than wait for a decision

Yes I have done that a couple of days ago. Not sure whether I need to do that again today as the processing time got over just now.

Don't send another web form. It won't help. BTW it could take up to one month to get a reply to the web form or you might get a decision before this

Isn't there any other way to speed up the process? I must hear from them before the weekend. Otherwise there is no point in visiting Canada (after the conference ends).

You can email your local visa office to request for an early decision. You can include copies of the conference + your tickets. There's nothing else that you can do

Never knew online application will take this much time. Should have applied offline
