Hi Folks - As we know, Canada PR requirement is 2 years (730 days) in 5 years - Say if we land during the 3rd year of the first five year and stay for 4 years - will that fulfill the 2 year requirement of the next 5 years as well? - Hoping the question is not confusing.

No - that's not how it works.

It's a rolling requirement. At any given time you must be able to look back at the previous 5 years and have spent at least 2 of those years in Canada. It's not tied to your PR card expiry date.

Sorry to open an old thread. So technically, if I got PR in 2020 and move to Canada in 2021 and come back in 2023, will my PR still be valid by 2025?

What if in the last 5 years my residency obligation of 730 days is met but my PR card is expiring? Will my PRTD get rejected if I am outside Canada?
