Hi
Sorry for late reply I don't log in very often. I started my application process in Oct 2010, they confirmed my file was complete May 2011 and was waiting assessment. I got a positive assessment result 24 Feb 2012. So 6 months to gather paperwork for complete file to be assessed and 9 months for CNO to complete assessment. I sit the boards 6th June, so fingers crossed.
Lots of jobs, will know more about what they offer once I am reistered.

My case is that I am a nurse by profession working for a govt hospital in Middle east. I did the landing procedures a few months back and came back giving the address of my relative in Canada and they have my PR cards now. While I was in Canada I went to Davenport and got my registration application in RN GENERAL category forwarded to CNO . After I came back to Middle east I send the Verification of Transcripts etc to my nursing college in India and they send it back to CNO.
Now last week I got a new set of forms. I am quite clear abt it but need to clear a few doubts. Now if someone who has gone thru this process can definitely help me I guess.
The question is on the A4 summary of employment u need to list all the employers with whom u worked and send this directly to CNO. Here I need to state that I am working since 98 as Rn and have worked for 4 employers till date. I will list all in this a4 form.
On the B4 FORM I have to give this to my employer to forward directly to CNO.
It is stated on their letter that u should provide the employers of the last 5 yrs.
So my current employer i am working since 2003 ( 8 YRS ) so is it ok if I just provide the verification of this employer and skip my 3 previous employers.
Please someone who has done this part kindly advice and also whom should I provide this form for filling out since i work in a govt hospital and planning to resign in June 2012 and leave for Canada permanently.

Hi
I have not heard of this group, be careful make sure it is not NCLEX based as many are. I did the CRNE yesterday and it was tough, very community orientated as that is the way health care is going in Canada.

So study Canadian books as these are what the CRNE questions are based on. I did the CNA - on line CRNE test, did well on it but the questions yesterday were totally different for previuos test I have taken.

hi dear Olga,
I've sent my application to CNO,and my nursing college also sent them transcript and forms,
waiting for the next outcome from CNO.
BTW
Olga what is "assessment"????
i am not quite clear about the assessment procedure,,,,please share your valuable knowledge with me ..

thanks and good luck with your CRNE

The assessment procedure is what CNO does to see if your education and work experience meet the Canadian BSCN. Just make sure you send all documents they request and if your have extra certificates or awards you have received since you became an RN in your country include them too, they can only help.

hey olga

do you recommend any particular books or other reading source to prepare for the CRNE ?

I am due to give my CRNE in October this year and was hoping to get my hands on some good books to prepare.

I have my fingers crossed for my visa to come by that time or else I will apply for visit visa.
ANy suggestions!!

Hi

Perry and Potter - Nursing Fundamentals 4th edition
Mosby - Comprehensive review for CRNE
Community Health Nursing in Canada - Stanhope
CNA - on line CRNE prep tests (100 questions)

Do lots of CRNE questions , NCLEX not the same

Do not use "nurse2canada" - useless

Usually on facebook there are some groups - try on face book page "CRNE June 6 2012" lots of questions and answers posted there.

Use CNO website and review all the standard/policies there

Hope this helps

hi guys , I applied in cno and crnbc as RN,.my crnbc reg will expire on aug 2013, they require me to do the sec exam last 2010,but due to difficulties in getting a visa.I asked for an extension and requested to do a bridging program instead so that I can apply for a student visa..I have now a PR visa..and the next semester at Kwantlen will open on January 2013.. my cno app is still in process cause I havent received the competency assessment supplement forms from them but they told me that they have already sent it last april,2012.

I am planning to apply for LPN for faster processing and hoping to get the eligibility to take the exam faster..
I would like to know the IELTS requirement for LPN in BC? what regulatory body should I contact? and how many weeks do they process LPN if the applicant is already in BC?thank you..
