Hi
Yes these were all my extra studies and courses I had done, plus awards I had received for official and for voluntary work.
I'm going to contact my POC to advise her that we got our PR visa and will be moving to Canada 4 September; I will ask if there was any way she might be able to say when I will get the assessment results, otherwise I will look for a job working in a pub or restaurant.

I have heard that it takes approximately 3 months after they receive all docs, so your should be soon.

Olga did you get your eligibility letter yet?

thanks for the reply. :) I noticed we have almost the same timeline. the last time srna updated me was Aug this year and they are requesting additional documents from our local Prof regulatory agency. I haven't requested for status since then. I. wanted to know if others have a little bit faster assessment and what kind of decision they received e.g. advised to take addtl bridging course or approval to sit to CRNA already. I just hope we receive a favorable assessment...:)

anyone wvho have a different experienced? tia.

Hi
No I am still waiting on the assessment. I was told that currently they are working on April/May 2011, so hoping to have result by the end of Jan 2012 !!! and you?

My case is that I am a nurse by profession working for a govt hospital in Middle east. I did the landing procedures a few months back and came back giving the address of my relative in Canada and they have my PR cards now. While I was in Canada I went to Davenport and got my registration application in RN GENERAL category forwarded to CNO . After I came back to Middle east I send the Verification of Transcripts etc to my nursing college in India and they send it back to CNO.
Now last week I got a new set of forms. I am quite clear abt it but need to clear a few doubts. Now if someone who has gone thru this process can definitely help me I guess.
The question is on the A4 summary of employment u need to list all the employers with whom u worked and send this directly to CNO. Here I need to state that I am working since 98 as Rn and have worked for 4 employers till date. I will list all in this a4 form.
On the B4 FORM I have to give this to my employer to forward directly to CNO.
It is stated on their letter that u should provide the employers of the last 5 yrs.
So my current employer i am working since 2003 ( 8 YRS ) so is it ok if I just provide the verification of this employer and skip my 3 previous employers.
Please someone who has done this part kindly advice and also whom should I provide this form for filling out since i work in a govt hospital and planning to resign in June 2012 and leave for Canada permanently.

I already finish this process. you are right about the filling of forms. but I did mention all of my nursing experince including beyond 5 years and asked them to fill and forward Verification of Employements form to CNO. this form has to be compleated with head of nursing division in that hospital and stamped with hospital itself. you sould approach the matron in the hospital.

Hi Farpadana,
Thanks a lot for ur inputs.

Hi Olga

Hope you don't mind the questions, I'm a UK RN and am hoping to land in BC...what province did you land in? Did you have to do any further make up classes? I think I will need to do some qualifying courses as well as an SEC assessment... did you go to Canada with family or alone? How has it gone?

Thankyou
Tina

Hi Tina
I landed in Toronto in Sept 2011, I moved to London an hour+ south west of Toronto. They have three great hospitals here. I still don't have the results of my assessment but expect then any day. I also am a midwife so hoping with this and my 25 years full time experience, i will not need any further training, but then you never know.

I came her with my husband and 6 year old son. We did a lot of planning before we left, contacting realators, school boards etc. We found a great hotel at a good price "Homewood suites by Hilton" two rooms - kitchen/living and bedroom with two queen beds, homemade dinner Mon thru Thursday and it worked out at approx 85Cad a night. This is a good price when full breakfast and dinner (4 days) included.

Make sure you do have extra cash with you as starting out again is expensive. Everything went very smooth but there is a lot of redtape at times. make sure you get a copy from your insurance company of your no claims status and if possible from the traffice police/police. Car insurance use a broker we saved 2500 CAD.

madam Olga how has been your job hunting experience having regard to the fact that your assessment is yet to be completed. Do you get any job to do at all?.But i think CNO said their assessment will not last more than 12 weeks i hope they keep to their word. I wish you and your family all the best.

Hi
I am still waiting on my asessesment results, unfortunately the process once they have your completed file is 8 months unless you have a 4 years BSCN from a school/country they recognise, otherwise it is up to 8 months for the results of the assessment.

I sent my resume to one of the local hospitals explaining I was still waiting on results of assessment. They offered me a job, they did all my reference checks, so once I get the results I can start.

While I am waiting on the results I am working at a clothing store part-time which I enjoy, a nice break from nursing.
